I have an 04 Liberty Sport with an OTT (spacer) lift and since installing it I've had the stock front shock struts replaced twice. Likely its the OTT lift that's at fault.

Since I've installed extended bumpstops up front they seem to be holding up however lately I've noticed that when I hit a pothole on the highway I receive a bone jarring hit. Could it be the upper control arm hitting the extended bumpstop?

In the spring I'm tossing out the OTT lift in favor of a proper Frankenlift.

Its just the shocks that are toast again. The bumpstops are more than likely doing their job and they are hitting the UCA since the shocks are not damping anymore. More than likely your UBJs will go soon as well from the added stress. OTTs are just not a good alternative on a KJ

More than likely, with the OTT lift, and sagging springs from an 04 model, you are hitting that bumpstop more and more. the more the springs sag, the more often you will bang against the bumpstop. Go for the Frankie, or just get some OME 927's, a top spacer plate, and a clevis lift and be about the same height with half the $$$ investment.

Are they shocks or struts? the reason I am asking, I have 35000 miles and am in death valley yesterday did about 60 miles of the worst washboard that I've ever been on and now, when I get to highway speed on the pavement it's bobbing a little and when I hit a bump, I am getting a little shake in the steering wheel.
I was in two wheel mode and only going 10-15 mph due to the road, I did not air down on the way to, but did on the way back as it was so ruff. :CAMPING:

They are shock front and rear. Many people call our front shocks "struts" since they have a coil-over setup like struts. But in truth, they are really just shocks. They do not have the same function on our KJs as a Strut assembly does.

Had it to the dealer Friday, yes the front shocks are shot, they however don't have in stock what I need, are the front shocks different on the CRD than the gasser? They have to be ordered in, and it's going to take a week to get them here. :CAMPING:
