ok so I have a oil light that keeps coming on and off when the jeep goes below 1000 rms. SO i replaced the oil switch above the filter and now my light comes on when i go over 2000 rpm ... any ideas of what to do next? These sensors are starting to be a royal pain.

Oil light trouble here too.

I replaced the sender switch several months ago. At that time it had failed and was leaking oil through it.

Now, with the new switch, the light comes on, seemingly at random. Driving along, it might blink on. It may be lighted for just a few seconds, or for a couple minutes. It has never STAYED on if you slow or come to a stop. But in this case, it has not come on when not moving and idling.

This weekend I plan to order a new switch from Rockauto -- going with a cheaper $25 switch, which is probably Chinese, and give it a chance. The one I have on now is the "better" one, $50 .

If it were easy access , I'd throw on a temporary mechanical gauge to prove my oil pressure-- but I can't frame a scenario whereby if there really were low oil pressure concerns, that it wouldn't have caused engine damage by now.

Another idea is that the connector is damaged form the oil that entered it through the original switch -- but why would that have waited to show up, and I sprayed some solvent through it.

Worst part of the replacement was unlatching the orange locking catch on the connector. Almost impossible to reach, and working with holding a mirror. Spent over an hour wrestling with that. Loosened the power steering pump and pivoted it aside to reach the switch with a 1 -1/16 deep socket.

I'll be keeping an eye on your post.
