Sick Of Recession

It has been 11 months an counting and I am sick of being unemployed!!! There are no jobs out there and the ones that are available have lines of people trying to apply :banghead:

When will this be over!!!

My rant is over for the moment........

Walmart.
They're one of the companies doing the best right now.

They'll hire anyone.
At my walmart on the 3rd shift(overnight) we had a guy in a wheelchair(who did wheelchair body building, lol) a mentally challenged woman, and a guy who was a chemical engineer in the navy..... Go figure.

Oh, the military is always hiring too.

Problem with walmart is they'd pay me about enough to pay half my bills, and probablly less than unemployment.

I'm still flagging at least 60 hours a week(40-45 actual work hours).Sundays,Monday's,and Wednesday's I get slammed so bad with work I most likely never get off on time and I'm occupying at least 5 of our 8 bays all day long.

Gotta get the needed skills(and always are needed) and certifications(gotta be good though) and worrying about not having a job is a thing of the past(or farthest from your mind).

What work would you be doing/have you done? While it would involve a move, the aerospace industry in my area is busy and getting busier. they are hiring aero techs and all kinds of support group folks from engineering on down right now out here.

What kind of work do ya'll do, stump and boiler? I am a recruiter for a petrochem maintenance and construction company based in Baton Rouge, LA. I'm finishing a turnaround this week, so I'm not hiring right this minute, but will be again within the next 2 months. The Gulf Coast hasn't been hit as hard as the rust belt.

Northrop Grumman is in need of all kinds of folks. Over the next year or so it will get even busier. Go to their site and click around to find their job listings. LMK if anything piques your interest.

Actually, I am. I need Combo pipe welders that can Stick and Tig weld and pass X-Ray. That you? If you haven't welded in a refinery before it may not be a fit. 6G on both weld tests.

That's not me.

I have yet to learn to TIG.

-AC and DC electrical systems design, diagnostics, repair and retro-fitting
-Mig and Tig welding
-Industrial maintenance of all types
-CDL class A, Hazmat, doubles and triples
-Manual Machining including mills and lathes
-Customer Service

I can stick and mig well. My vertical and overhead welding need work though.
Miging pipe is cake.

VERRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY extensive background check, interviewing like everyone you know and their mother, your neighbors, then they interview you, they'll pick at your brain with a finetooth comb.

Well, atleast thats what m bestfriends cousin had to go through to get top clearance.

Prior military service usually qualifies someone for clearance more easily, depending on the clearance level. Many military members have Secret clearance and may not know it.

Very cool, man. That's what this board is supposed to be all about, right? People of common interest coming together for a common goal. Since most of us can't make a living as a KJ owner, that common goal should also extend to the living well-being of KJ owners. I'd hate to hear of a member having to sell their ride because of lack of income.

Hope it works out with NG. If not, holler at me and I'll see if I can do anything for you here on the Gulf Coast.

Apply for the highest and wait and hope.I got denied Top Secret clearance in '99 due to my "having to much fun" days as a teenager(they even talked to my kindergarten teacher) ,otherwise I would be still in the marines playing with nuclear weapons.
