Hey all,

Can you put a the 2009 KK sport Select trac into 4WD auto at any speed?

My mother in law called and is wanting to know.
She is on Icy snow packed roads.

I told her to put in 4WD Auto at any speed below 65mph.

Was I right or wrong.....

Sorry for this, but I just wanted to know for sure and you folks always have the best answers.

I think its 55MPH but ive done it at like 65 in my command trac. Just let off the gas and let the RPMs drop as low as possible then switch it

shes fine... as long as you are not spinning tires when you switch it you can switch it on the go at any speed.

Yes, switch at anytime, the computer controls the 4WD engagement. It won't actually engage much 4WD (it is controlled by a clutch) unless wheel spin is detected.

In fact I think 4WD auto should always be selected, unless its dry summer weather or there is some reason to run 2WD.

The driver may be tooling along in decent weather and want to switch to 4WD auto just to be prepared for conditions ahead.

You have to be more careful with command trac.

Thank you all..

You are right if it was snowing she would not be going fast at all.
More like 25 to 35....

Thanks all for the help...

By the way the Liberty has never let her down yet.
Snow, mud or rain...
