Come on Ernie, cut me some slack. I'm only going with the facts that were posted and my experience. Yeah I've seen pics like the one you posted above, and also some of a guy pulling a big jet a few feet on a flat dry surface, never one of a four wheeler pulling a big truck out of snow on an icy surface. And yes, I saw the You Tube clip. The JK was pulling the big truck up a slight icy incline, not out of a snow pile.

Okay durangotang... I'll play. So, what's the problem?? Couldn't you come up with something to prove your point other than your hater pic? At least Ernie came out with a pic showing something un-thought of can be done.

Someone voices doubt based on "exactly" what was written in the OP, and "personal experience" in that business, and you come back with your crap of a poster?? Come on dude... get real, you're one of the last people here I thought that would come up with something like that. Guess I was wrong...... but hey, you're entitled to your opinion too. At least I tried to explain why I had doubts, and did not come back at someone with a childish post.....

I think the delivery was just a little off

I took your post as one of those "Oh i gotta see the pictures to believe this one because 'such and such' "

fish stories, even the ones that were true always get a little exaggerated, if only slightly and ya never know how slightly until you see the pictures

people gettin defensive, even if it's defensive of the OP, is just gonna start an argument and it's not worth it

you know the rules, if there's no pictures it didn't happen ;)

My post was just sarcasim, anyhow...I pulled out a tractor trailer from a snow bank in NY that was hauling KJs and was towing two monster trucks...I did it with my Saturn SL2 back in 2001....I would show you pics but I lost em when my 3rd wife threw my computer at my mistress and broke my hard drive.

LOL... sounds like you need to improve your batting average with women instead of pulling trucks out of the snow!!

I would like to applaud Scooby for giving his jeep a try. You never know what can happen until you try.

Why wouldn't it have happened? Unless you ever tried ...you are not in a position to say it's impossible just because you drove a truck....Image

I have done it myself, as long as the truck still has it's own steam it works. We tied a pick up and my KJ to a semi that couldn't make it up a muddy hill.

Good one Scooby!!

This right here explains it all. :D

To the OP glad to hear you are proud of your Jeep! I smile so much every time I see mine that my face hurts. For me this is great news as usually after about 6months -1 year I get bored of daily drivers and start to plan the sale. Its been a year and a half and I feel like I love my jeep more and more each day. :JEEPIN:

OK, I sent AZKJ the pic I had taken on my cell phone and he said he'd post it for me. I took the picture after I pulled to the flat or slight downhill area of the exit ramp and after he took my strap off his bumper. Again - the pic doesn't show much b/c it was night time, snowing, cold, and even though everything seemed OK by the time I took the picture I was still alert to the idea that now that he was free this is when I might get ambushed with a 2nd person in his truck, you just never know. Looking back on it, the guy I helped was just a nice guy who needed help and fortunately I was able to do that. I wish I could have given him my cell phone to take a video from inside his cab. Now that would have been cool. 8)

As for the fishing stories, sadly the largest fish I've ever caught was a 27" Stripped Bass (they get a lot bigger) on Long Island and a 33" Albacore Tuna at The Canons way off the Montauk point. Those get a lot bigger. This past summer of the (only) four times I went fishing – I got nothing but stolen bait and one broken line. :banghead:

Here are the pics scoobysnax sent and asked me to post for him....

Image

And one of his Jeep....

Image

Well scoobysnax... thanks for the pics. You can barely make out the type of vehicle, but looking very close, it is in fact a newer model, short nose Freightliner. If I didn't have some knowledge of big trucks, it would of been hard for me to tell what it is, but by the shape of the headlight glare, and if you look real close at the grill, you can just make it out to be a Freightliner as you said. Congrats on a job well done!!

As for the one or two people that ganged up on me for my opinion of the story with a hater pic or comment... guys, everyone is entitled to an opinion. I thought I pointed out the facts that lead me to disbelieve the story in a respectful way. By the way the facts 'were written and presented' in the OP, they just didn't add up to me.

That's a bad thing about the internet, not being able to interact with the other person. I was really disappointed in a couple of people here. Not that they disagreed with me, but how they went about expressing it. All they had to contribute to this thread, or to my posts was a hater poster?? Come on, that's pretty childish and rude in my book. If you can't contribute to either of the views being presented, or converse with a person in a respectable way... stay out of it. I thought we were above that on this board. Oh well, guess not.

Again scoobysnax... way to go!!

Thanks for posting the pics. I sent the 2nd pic just so you could all see what my Jeep looked like - the pic was taken on vacation up in Bar Harbor, ME two summers ago.

As for the comments, personally I took them as funny jokes, not meant to be personal insults, but yes, that is the down side to the internet. I can say the word "dude" and in person you would know exactly what I was saying but written down it could be interpreted a lot of ways.

Anyway, if anyone would like me to make me a "this Jeep Liberty can pull your Freightliner truck any day" bumper sticker please let me know where I can order it 8) :JEEPIN:

I belong to another forum that have non jeepers and had a big argument about that Subaru pulling the semi. I said no way. But Scoob convinced me that it's possible. Truth might be stranger than fiction!

I completely agree. The only way that I could love my '06 Renegade more is by adding more mods. The only way that I plan to get rid of it is as scrap metal when it is so old and beat that it is no longer worth the metal it is made of.

As to the OP and AZKJ, I see both sides. It is often difficult to believe what someone is trying to share in a moment of excitement because details could go unspoken. Once the dust settles and all is seen clearly, as in this case, there is an understanding and acceptance of the situation. Props to you both. To all the haters I say, "Can't we all just get along?" :2cents:
