For all of those out there that are running with the 2" Daystar spacer lift (or any other spacer lift) how long have you had it and/or how long did it take for your springs to wear out. The more I take my stock KK off road the more I want to lift and put some bigger and more aggressive tires than stock. The 2.5 JBA with upper A arms is eventually my goal but wallet can't take a hit like that for right now. Since my KK is only a few months old, I'm only doing mild to moderate offroading now.

OEM springs usually last 20 to 30K before they are worn out

I going on 12,000 miles now.. wonder if it would be worth it and the daystar lift will last the additional miles 8-18K miles till they need to be replaced any way then do the JBA spring lift?

The daystar will last past the 30K mark with out to much noise. You will net 1.5 to 2 inches no prob. At 8K, my drive side springs had sagged .60 inches and the passenger side ones sagged .40.

I don't know what your needs are, but the daystar will probably hold you over for now till you save the money to do the spring lift. Just remember you are more likely to hear more squeaks and creaks later on down the road...

I have had my Daystar on for about 23k miles on my KJ. 41k miles on the KJ overall. Have sagged about 1/2" after I put the lift on. But I have some OME HDs in the garage ready to install in the spring.

Don't do any serious off roading since it is my only vehicle. Just some light trails for now. The extra clearance would be nice along with some better tires.

Most people will tell you to upgrade your struts. With them being stretched that extra 2" they will give out way sooner then most people suspect. Plus youll have it apart putting the spacers on so save time and money by doing it at the same time.

Would one of the OTT kits with longer front forks (Rock Krawler or Rocky Road) be better than Daystar spacer? Does it still put extra stress on the coils?

Thats just asking for trouble, plus you will never get every thing back together at 5.5 inches of lift. either way, you are still stressing the struts and springs because you are not increasing the range of motion on them

I mean the OTT Rockcrawler or Rocky Road instead of the Daystar lift. That would be too crazy to have the Daystar and the Rocky Road.

OTT - no stress on the coils - but they can kill the struts in as little as 1 weekend.

(actually it only takes a couple of suspension cycles - it moves away from the bumpstops and the strut stops internally - it's not made for that and it dies quickly)

How much longer are extended bumpstops over the stock?

Whats' the deal with these lifts and the warranty on the vehicle. Would love to do just the daystar lift but am wondering about the warranty issues.

sometimes dealers will deny certain warranty work, depending on whats wrong really, for any aftermarket mods. you should consult your dealership first. or if you really wanted you could put a lift on and if you ever had problems take it off while it goes in the shop  thats to much work though
