ram air is a direct path of air ( more or less a tube) that leads from the outside ( where it is cooler) to the inside of you jeep right by the intake as to provide the coldest air possible.. generally this is done with a box but it works the same for an open area also

Oh yeah, sorry Jeepin - I know the basics of ram air I was just wondering when the heck you installed yours/how'd you do it ?

Definitely a worthy mod in my opinion. The hole you cut, does it actually lead anywhere, or just open up more airflow into the engine bay in general?

What's the story?

the whole i cut leads directly to the factory tube from the oem airbox... there is a little tube there... but there is no direct flow of air... i just made it so there was... it does help alot... i have checked my temps of the air with my guage

Very nicely done Jeepin, very nice indeed. I wonder what kind of difference it would make in the factory intake system, as well as how much water would get in (barring any deep crossings - just regular rain/snow/puddle playing)...

there may be some simple cutting happening soon......

look at what scar did with the factory box... at that rate you could also install an intake inside the box... make it even better... but deff hack away.. i mean i could make it even better by addaing foam so it goes directly into the tube i have but i havent done it yet... i'm tryign to figure out the moisture thing...

Have you looked at the tube/hose that feeds the airbox at all? I'm wondering if there's a "drain hole" on the bottom of it, before it reaches the airbox somewhere. If not, it would probably help with water if one were to drill a small hole, or maybe series of holes in the bottom of the tube. Sure it'd also reduce the effectiveness of the ram-air, but might be a decent compromise.

small hoels will howl or make noise and you will lose air flow.. inthe factory set up its almost like a slight cloth tube that leads to the front...

both tires on a locked axle will spin together instead of one being able to spin faster then another, which you need them unlocked for ease of turning. with both tires turning the same speed you will have better traction and less prone to have one tire spinning in the air and not bein able to go anywhere. the ARB locker is actuated by air so it does not have to be on at all times. this provides good streetability cause you wont even be able to tell its there but on the trail, lock it up and be able to make it through more challenging areas.

HMM no clue :banghead:

On another note i had another brand of tire installed which solved my ridiculous sway i was complaining about. As i suspected the retreads were JUNK. The funny thing is i threw one some Generic Brand from Michelin(Medalist) ATs and they ride WAY smoother than the retreads and have no sway. These tires have nice meaty treads, only cost 110 a tire installed and balanced and they threw in a lifetime road hazard warranty down to 2/32" Tread that includes offroading for free. My next set of tires ill get the Bridgestones i wanted :(. But for now these are actually pretty nice
