look at what scar did with the factory box... at that rate you could also install an intake inside the box... make it even better... but deff hack away.. i mean i could make it even better by addaing foam so it goes directly into the tube i have but i havent done it yet... i'm tryign to figure out the moisture thing...

Have you looked at the tube/hose that feeds the airbox at all? I'm wondering if there's a "drain hole" on the bottom of it, before it reaches the airbox somewhere. If not, it would probably help with water if one were to drill a small hole, or maybe series of holes in the bottom of the tube. Sure it'd also reduce the effectiveness of the ram-air, but might be a decent compromise.

The stock air box does have a couple of small drain holes in it. I do mean small. If you were to get a significant amount of water in there, it would take quite some time to drain out.
I put my Ram air into the lower side of the air box. This will allow water a way to get out, if it gets in.

You can see the stock inlet is still there. The stock inlet also routs to the front of the rig, entering just behind the cross member of the grill in the KA. See the rectangle hole, just above the new round hole I made for the Ram air. The stock inlet is more restrictive because of the diameter of the tube and all the angles it has to negotiate on the way to the air box.

Now, I know there is a difference between the KA and KK grill, so positioning a Ram air tube would be different. I am not sure how far down the stock tube goes.

Regarding the water issue; For regular driving, I have not seen any significant water in the air box, even in the hardest down pour, driving on the freeway. Also with 2 inlets, there is less likelihood of hydro-lock, if you do get a lot of water in there. With my Ram air inlet located low in the air box, the water has a way to get out fast if needed. Since it is made of RV sewer pipe, I can also put a plug into it if I ever want to cross deep water.

You can see what I did here.

yea they are different, correct me if i'm wrong but the tow strap can't stratch sort of like a seat belt, but a recovery strap can and it stores energy sort of like a rubber band does to contract and pull back... also i think the hooks on them are very diffferent also,

lol oh believe me between the fogs and the headlights... i'm sure i killed a few puppies already... with the high beams... i've moved on to a few other bigger animals...

you havent started the jeep??? what's that all about? lol

if you get snow you gotta take it out haha, thats the perfect excuse... " hey its snowing, guess i need my jeep today  "

thats a bummer about the surprise it'll be here soon and i'm sure everyone will be excited.. i recently been looking at trying to find the hood from the red liberator II ( failing) lol.. and i've also bene looking at doing a few other things ( it would be further down the road tho... cough cough b&g tuning cough cough). other than that i mean i'm just trying to get it ready cause i'd like to do shows with it, btw i found something ( they are called pods) they arent like my LED string under glow they are small individual lights... they'd prob work great for rock lights... like int he wheel well and in between the chassis and the body, let me know if your interested ( on the pricy side tho trying to find something of close quality for cheaper price)...

i needa PM you about some custom work that i might do regarding making something functional cause i know you've thought about it so i wanted to know you r ideas

A recovery strap will not have hooks of any kind.

Gassed up with 18.89 gallons. Once again way to close to empty.
washed the windows.

now loading the dogs and suite case and cool.

off for a 600 mile trip to LA to set up a Imac for the parents..

Really hoping the Jack Russell settles downa bit, as he hates car/jeep rides unless it is to work.

My Chihuahua (yeahyeah, not a real dog - i've heard it all don't worry) doesn't like the jeep rides either... but I figured out a way to fix it.... :JEEPIN: :JEEPIN: :JEEPIN:

I swear, he might be part bird...

I kennel him during the drive - no food/water for awhile before the trip, and put a blanket/jacket/etc. over the kennel. He can't see and it's dark, therefore he sleeps and doesn't cry! :SOMBRERO:

It works for a couple hours at a time, then we'll hear him stir and know to stop at the next rest-stop to let him stretch and pee.

Give it a try! :2cents:
