Hey guys. I decided to buy the Cragar Black D Window rims, 16x7" / 5 on 4.5" / 4.0" Backspacing

Here's a picture, even though EVERYONE knows these rims, lol.
Image

I was wondering where you guys recommend buying them online.
Quadratec has them for 72.99 each for four, for a total of 291.96 plus 35.99 for shipping coming to a total of $327.95.
Summit has them for even more, 86.39 each for four, for a total of 345.56 plus 12.95 for shipping coming to a total of $358.51.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a better place to order them, one of those hidden gems I know that are out there.

Thanks in advance.

I bought mine from Summit. But I went 15x7 with 4" BS. 15" are only $45 each. I found better prices on 15" tires too for the same rolling diameter. Just a thought....

Or check with your local Discount Tire. They have their house brand wheel that is jsut like those, and they will more than likely meet or beat any online price you find.

Well, I thought about the 15" .. Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember people saying they're not good for clearance of the brakes(?) and such. Or does the backspacing correct it?

I bought my soft 8s from summit. they have super fast shipping and I have been very pleased with any orders I've ever placed through them.

Hey, so I found a great deal on 15 inch rims locally, I was wondering if they work, or if I should just suck it up and buy the 16s, I know the 15s are possible, but I just want to know what to expect. I don't want more headaches I don't need, lol.

15" wheels are fine as long as they are steel wheels like the Black D, Soft 8, etc. But 15" alloy wheels will not clear the calipers, nor will some of the 15" Jeep OEM wheels from Wranglers IIRC. I say go for it with the 15's locally!

i think the 15x7's was what i was remembering, which will work fine, and give you more tire options

yes, the difference is in the shape of the holes in the rim

Well, I impulse bought, and I think it was a good idea.. I got four Cragar D Windows 15x7 4inch backspace (with almost new tires) for 100 bucks.. Not bad if I say so myself. The tires are a little small at 235/70/15, but they'll do for now..
They about the same size as I have on right now, so as soon as I get them on, it will be easier to see how big I can go. I'll post up a picture as soon as I get them on the truck.

What are the benefits/drawbacks of running a slightly smaller tire? Is it even safe?

Thanks everyone for helping me out.

No danger as long as all 4 are the same size. Speedo will be off a hair depending on the difference in size between stock and what your running now (of course the speedo wasn't to accurate from the factory either).

Four wheels... what's your plan for a spare?

Yeah the speedometer is three miles an hour slow for me according to the GPS. All four tires are identical.. For now I'll keep my original spare. And if I need to use it, I'll just make sure I put it on the front tires. But I will buy a fifth. The tires are about less than an inch shorter, which makes a pretty big difference in revs per mile. I haven't figured it out yet, but I should be ok if I need to drive with one larger tire to get it fixed.

just make sure the small tire goes to the front and only temporarily

if ya put it on the back and you have a LSD rear, it'll burn that sucker up quick

Here is a pic of mine with 235-75-15 before Daystar or clevis lift. Of course I am much taller and fatter now...

Yeah, that's just about what mine look like.. I'll get a picture up soon, Daylight usually helps, maybe I'll get some cool snow shots since we're expecting a nice storm up here on the northeast coast.
