okay... got my led strips from hong kong...
Does anyone know if they are going to glow like the domes do? b/c if they do, I'll just get some 906's and put them in there and use the strips for something else...

Thanks

you can get the glow out of them, all it takes is a small bypass capacitor if i recall correctly

we'll have to dig up what exactly the item was that resolved it, it's a known issue with a known fix, for some reason it was like a 5uf bypass capacitor, but that may have been for the fuel pump electrical noise, tbh i'm not sure at the moment, someone else may remember exactly what it was

however.. good thing to know is, is that the fix involved nothing more than attaching a quarter sized device inline with the wires with a scotch block splice or some sauder

and i dont recall it being more than a few dollars either

When I installed just the dome lights I also installed a halogen light under my rear shelf, that fixed the dome light glow. The lights in the feet area glowed when I first put them in. However the other night I installed a small 3 LED strip light under my front doors to light up the ground, when I connected them to the LED's under the dash, it gave it enough resistance and corrected the glow with them.

hey rip , here's those glow fix deals

http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm

any 100ohm resistor should work tho, there's other similar products online, parts stores usually carry something as well

Hey riptricket, the install looks good. I would keep the blue instead of the white, but that's just my opinion. I am goin' to install this 4 piece LEDGlow LED interior kit (http://www.ledunderbody.com/Red-4pc-LEDGlow-LED-Interior-Lights-Lighting-Kit.aspx) and wire it for them to light-up when I open my door and light-up when the vehicle is on. I have this same kit, but in 7 color, installed in my Acura's interior and in the trunk to show-off my system at night.

I'd keep them blue, most of my interior electronics are blue, radio, CB/SSB, couple other things

seems to have less glare while driving at night than whites or yellows

other than that kinda matches since everything else is blue, right??

I emailed the ebay lister and said take them back... and give me my money back.
he said that since the item was cheaper than the price to ship, keep the item and we will refund your money.
YAY~!!! but now I still have to get some white leds...
but i think i found a place for the led strip... i will hopefully be able to post some pics tonight.

Sounds like we need to sticky that ebay vendor, that's pretty good customer service

my friend with the red TJ was complaining about his dome light being dim, and it certainly was, cant even read a map with it

I had a spare stock 3rd tail light bulb i stuck in place of the typical blade bulb that was in it and it made a big difference and the plastic is so thick on the TJ dome that i dont see a danger of it melting

I may end up getting a TJ dome and putting it in over the rear seats, because I have like.. NO lighting for the back seats, the front and cargo is acceptable

but the rear seats is dark and dismal

Also, what should I do with my blues? I have thought about engine lights, or perhaps when you open the door there is light by your feet. Tomorrow night I am going to figure out my favorite spot for them.
