Sadly another CRD has slipped into the abyss. :dead: My wife was coming home from work on Friday and she was t-boned. She was okay but our "little mule" was not.

I may buy it back after it's totaled and use the power plant for a new project. I just did a hemi conversion on my JK and this diesel would be an excellent candidate for another Jeep. Onto the good news, this certainly accelerated our "thinking" of buying a CRD WK.

Here's some pics for all you guys who love to see carnage!

Think it'll buff out?

Here's my hemi powered JK. I did the conversion myself. It's got a few other goodies on it. :SOMBRERO:

You should definately do a conversion, buy it back and save that drivetrain! too many of these things get bought up by salvage yards who cut up the harnesses, and rip apart all the conversion stuff.

I'm working on doing the same swap on my MJ, and have worked through, and have a plan on, a good deal of the conversion issues.

Ouch... That was a little more than a 10mph impact from a Kia.

It's possible it will buff out, but it will take a full tub of Meguiars.

Can I call dibs on the grille inserts? Those are cool, and would look nice on my Limited.
By any chance will you be interested in parting out the rest of it? I'm now in the market for a second set of rims, and some other small stuff.

 WOW, glad she is OK

What was she hit by, and do you have pictures of the passenger side interior?

Geordi beat me to it. :) That damage looks about like a 10 MPH impact from a kia.

Glad she's OK. That looks like a pretty hard hit.

darn, another "priceless" one bites the dust :dead:

At least you have plans to keep the oil burner running, and I am glad every one seems to come out OK, in these crashes, including your wife. Best of Luck

That's amazing. I didn't notice until you pointed it out.

I've been thinking about how I would react if someone took out my jeep. I might lose my mind.

I'm glad your wife is ok.

Wow, glad your wife is okay... At least nobody was in the passenger seat. :(

If you do decide to part it out, seeing as how you have (had :() a 2005, do you know if you have the F37 TCM flash done?

He said he wanted the engine for a conversion, which probably means the transmission too.

Or else I might have asked about that, ya claim jumping vulture. :goink:

Any possibility you would be willing to sawz-all the passenger door and get the glass out intact for me?

Hey guys, I'll see what the insurance says on the buyback. If I can buy it back for a decent price I will part out the rest of the KJ. If I decide to not use the diesel for a swap, I will certainly let you all know. I'd like to see it go to someone who will use it for some sort of conversion. I know that many of you could use some of these parts so like I said, if it's a reasonable buyback, I'll do it. I've had experiences with adjusters who try to get ridiculous figures out of totaled vehicles so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Although none of the glass was broken, the front windshield does have a crack from the accident. I don't have any pics of the passenger seat but it was squashed pretty good. I'm glad I wasn't sitting there. I'll see what I can do about more pictures when I go to see it in the impound.

I'm not sure if it had the f37 but I assume it did. I bought it when it had a little less than 30K on the odo. The original owner had the TC replaced as well as two EGR's. One was replaced right around 10K miles. The other was somewhere in the 20's. I had the SEGR mod, EHM and Samco Boost hoses. Otherwise the vehicle was pretty stock and it has about 8x,xxx miles on it. I did put a tow hitch on it including the wiring for the trailer brake. The tires are probably 30% but the wheels are in good shape. It has cruise, sunroof and the normal power equipment. The seats are grey cloth. I'll start another thread if we get to the point of parting out the vehicle.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my wife. She's bruised and her neck is sore but she's still doing fine.

Hey guys, I started looking around at WK diesels this weekend. I found several that are noted to have "fuel contamination" in their service history report. Most of these are Chrysler owned corporate vehicles. I have a few questions and since the "other Jeep diesel" vehicles subforum doesn't see much action, I wanted to call your attention to it here.

Here's my post. viewtopic.php?f=86&t=50013

What do guys think? Obviously, just a few gallons wouldn't be a major issue but for it to make the history report in Chrysler's service log, it needed to be brought in. I'd probably need to buy an extended warranty to be safe.

Just a gut reaction here, but if it is a corporately-owned vehicle, the FIRST place they would take it is the dealer's shop. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if you can see the truck operate and it sounds good... The computer report is probably just from them being overly-reportive of the driver's stupidity.
