Camping/Offroading in Ohio??

So i live in Cleveland and come spring i would like to take some weekend trips to places within 3 hours or so, where i could take the KJ and do some camping, and hopefully has some easy trails to play around at.
Anyone of any places around here like that?

But there are some great areas over in PA that would not be too far from you, lot of forest service roads in National and State Forest areas I have been looking into several of them.
Lots of camping in Ohio but not much in the way of 4 wheeling. Of course you have the Jeep Skool that is open every weekend and not far from you. I'll keep you posted on a possible upcoming trip :wink:

Haha yeah my dad is in the process of moving to North Carolina cause he hates it here but im still young (19) and if i didn't a job here right now i would probably be moving in with my buddy who just moved to Florida and is loving it.
Also my grandpa lives in PA in the Marienville forest lots of logging roads not to sure of actual trails or camping or if its even legal to take those logging roads? Is it at the max distance i would want to travel about 3 hours but i atleast have a purpose when going that way

Alright cool thanks for clearing that up for me.
I guess i could also talk to people up there with some lifted jeeps/trucks and ask them where they go.

Small correction...Jeep Skool is first full weekend of each month. :wink:

Its rules are not for everyone but i havent had any issues. Just my :2cents:

. If your interested though register on JeepSkool.com next weekend outing is March 6th and 7th.

Ive actually registered to become a member online at jeepskool, have you been there?
Something that a stock KJ could enjoy??

Ive been there every month since May 09 all with a stock KJ. 5 of those months on just street tires and i only got stuck once and that was my fault. Called for help over the CB and 2 minutes later there was a Staff Member there to give me a tug out and i continued along my merry way. Next event is March 6th and 7th if you decide to come out shoot me a PM either on here or on JS same forum name on there as here. I will agree with everyone on here that the "skooling" session is kind of boring but it will give you an idea of property boundaries and general house rules. I will be more than happy to lead you around the stock type trails.

We have had a few stock KJs come out and everyone has seemed to have a good time. As of this past weekend there were no lifted KJs but as of tommrow i will be the only one.

Thanks i can't make it in march, ill be in class 8-6 saturday and sunday...
But mid march i will be done, and until i get real busy at work at the new job (which i hope will be soon so i can pay the bills) i should have some free time, and hopefully some decent weather to do some maintenance to the KJ for the spring!

He kind of appears and disapears on here but Donkeykong also comes out to jeep skool and he is sitting stock height on 235/70r16 tires and has brought his two sons out and had a blast. Come April most of the snow and ice should melt so we should have a mud fest. :twisted:

if your looking for camping Pymatuning State park has some nice camping/camp grounds. you can wheel and camp at Beaverun dirt dayz... outstanding time there. i've been to both jeep skool and beaverun dirt days and i'd have to say beaverun is 10x better if your looking for a challenge or stock wheeling. jeep skool is just a LOT of water.
