2002 Liberty 3.7 Ltd Electrical issues lost power to pretty much everything
Hi All new to theforum looks like tons of good advice around

Habe a 2002 Liberty 3.7 Ltd Petrol (Called a Cherokee here in South Africa)

Has been running like a charm since the day it was bought .

But recently have lost power to the below items (Chysler here in SA says i need to replace BCM but im not convinced quoted me 12000 rand 1000 $ for the fix)

Low beam lights not working (high works when i flick)
Wipers front and back not working
Interior lighting gone
EVIC overhead panel lights up but has blank info
Rear demister not workin
Central locking not workin
Air con (Blower blows but only at setting 4)
Cruise control light comes on when pushed but has no control for accelerate
Speedo Not workin ( the Diff sensor is damaged i see that)

What is working

Car starts and drives like a peach 100 %
Indicators left and right and hazards 100 %
Electric windows work 100 %
Mirrors move in and out and can be directed with toggle
Radio works ( but paddle volume station select on steering wheel not workin)
Brake Lights
Fuel Guage
Water temp

I did the key trick and had a diag error P0500 which turned out to be the sensor on the back Diff ( need to replace but dont think it can be related to all the other issues)

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanx in advance !!!

Andy

that's quite a list my friend :(

maybe this help, i don't think the blower only working on 4 has anything to do with anything else

that symptom is common and can be fixed with a new blower resistor

info here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=47156&hilit=blower

Hi there thanks for the reply

i had noticed that fix earlier for the blower , have to admit the blower has been the longest standing issue just seems like such a mission for such a small fault

It sounds to me like they're right about the BCM being bad.

Almost everything you listed as not working is controlled by the BCM. Everything you listed as working is not.

You can download the circuit diagram from SCRBD..there is a link to it in the Sticky in Jeepforums.com, section 8 is the circuit diagram part of the whole Service manual....link might also be on this site but I am new here!
I had a lot of electrical issues on my 2002 2.5 CRD which the dealers in Nelspruit were scratching their heads about..with the use of the diagrams and lots of Electronics experience I sorted the issues out...bad wires in the harness!

I had the same problems and it ended up to be the BCM body control module.
