^^^that's enough to steer me away. sorry to hear about all the troubles. Crappy customer service makes a potentially half decent product turn to poop real quick.

Yeah... It is a great product IF used in the correct application. I won't go in to what I think about it, but lets just say it has it use in the industry.....

I'll throw in another Amen, save your money and go with an ARB or some other selectable locker. Automatic lockers like the Aussie are inexpensive but there are drawbacks. i.e.: locker wear, axle shaft failures

I have a Detroit locker (similar to an Aussie) in my YJ's rear axle but it's only a 4 cyl (I'll never snap an axle shaft) and it's a seldom used "trail only" rig.

Hey Digger... has anything else happened with the Locker situation? I just stumbled across their product and decided to come here to find out any info.

I see your last post was from back in December and was wondering if anything has come of it?

Thanks

...I see you're doing the banana dance :)

At this point would you recommend their products?

Are you at LIBERTY to comment on the resolution? Will you be putting another Aussie in your libby?

I am thinking about getting the rear one for my libby... but it's an 06 (with ESP) so I am not sure if it's a good idea... need to keep looking into it

Yes, that have made good on their warranty....

I can't say I would not recommend them, but I can't say I would recommend them, And I will explain....

In my opinion, it is really luck of the draw as to if you get a good one. If you look at my case, it only lasted 1400 miles, but I know of a few that are still going strong after 30K...

My KK will be getting ARB's at some point. The aussie does have a service life just like the limited slips in some of the KJ's. The only differance is when the LS in a KJ fails, it is still drivable. When the aussie fails, you loose all drive power......

So either keep the old gears and some gear lube in the trunk, or plan on driving home in front wheel drive? :juggle:

Hmmmm, makes me a little worried as I can put on 1400 miles in a week

Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and get F&R ARB's... I just don't want to pay a fortune for the locker, and then another fortune to get it installed... although I would bet that with the right guide I could do it... it can't be more difficult than some of the stuff I have to put together for work :)

Thanks for the explanation!!

If your doing that many miles in a week, do the ARB. I know it might hurt the wallet at first, but you will be glad you did.

the arb is also something that will retain a great portion of it's value, being their fairly indestructible, should you for some reason go back stock, or remove it when switching to a new vehicle where the rear/front end is different, you will still be able to get at least half your money out of it, something that isn't true about any of the other lockers except 'Maybe' the DTT

which is roughly the same price as the arb
