They have universal fender flairs made of steel and rubber. Has anyone ever tried them? Might look and work better than stock ones.

I'd stay away from tail light guards for the Liberty. The only attachment points are on the inboard side of the light, and it's a real PITA trying to get them in place so the gate can clear them without contact. On the outside they just rest against the body with little bumpers. So if you wheel on a trail with any kind of brush, all it will take is one branch to hook the front edge of the guard and bend it, and probably your swing gate, to heck.

I've debated this idea too. The plastic taillight guards are insulting to everybody's intelligence. The metal ones that actually fasten to the body may protect the taillight but cause more damage than the taillights are worth. I never thought of them binding with the rear door.

All said and done, I must admit I like the idea of stainless steel taillight guards (bling bling 8) )
