I've done some LOST searching and haven't found an answer regarding are winch mounting patterns (e.g. bolt size and spacing both directions) standardized for winches of a given size (e.g. same for all winches in the 9,000-10,000 lb rated pull capacity)?

I'd appreciate any insight and info you could point me to.

Yes; everything that would fit on a KJ has the same footprint. I know someone who can get you a great winch.

The current issue of Peterson's 4-wheel and offroad is nearly all about recovery (everything from cages to winches to technique and safety). It includes a good winch comparison chart and measurements on everything.
