Green- Do you have a way to data log the CRD in order to make a custom tunes? I could data log my CRD and then email you the logs in order to make an optimal tune for the setup.

We can log data for custom tuning. What are your goals for a custom tune? The lower backpressure alone will have a positive influence on fuel economy as the turbo vanes will be able to achieve the boost setpoint will a slightly more open position (closed loop control). During accelerations there may be benefits to changing the open loop control of the vanes for a more agressive launch. Fine tuning the open loop would require on-site work with your vehicle, or us mirroring the larger exhaust for testing. We could also make bench changes and have you test for effect until the speed to boost vs. smoke is balanced, but this would be very time consuming. There is a local shop near us that can make custom mandrel bent exhaust systems and maximize clearances if you do any off roading.

Have you noticed a big difference in interior sound levels with the straght pipe? Any droning or resonances at various speeds and loads?

Thanks for the info. I'm more of an old school carb guy but thanks for that. So, what can be done for the farty noise? Maybe stay with a muffler, only use a non restrictive one and also gutless cat?

I would encourage you to listen to a muffler-less CRD in person. I unbolted the cat-back section on my wife's stock CRD and shifted the back section off on the opposite stud on the front pipe, to basically make an open rear exhaust that dumped under the vehicle. It didn't sound too bad. I didn't leave it that way though. Just wanted to hear it.

Come muffler time, I may do just that. I would be interested in more power and a throatyer sound. Just can't handle any farts. Got way to much of that already. :SOMBRERO:

Mine is louder but not obtrusive I haven't noticed any buzzing or droning. I got to park in a parking ramp a couple weeks ago for a hockey game it sounds really awesome and gets a lot of attention in a closed space.

Sorry for the delay. It seems every time I log onto this forum it isn't up and running or it times out. This is the only forum I have trouble with. Not sure why.

Reason for the data logging is:
1. From my experience with gas motors, any two identically setup motors will not have an identical tune. This is due to tolerances in all the sensors used on the motor.
2. My turbo and exhaust have been modified so I would assume my motor will flow a different amount of air at throughout the rpm range.
3. A custom tune for a particular setup is usually much more spot on and effecient over a gineric tune even if it is for a particular setup.

Tuning the PowerWorks (made by COSWORTH) supercharges on the SVT Focus was a pita. Very rarely was the tune good but in most cases, the tune was too lean under load and too rich up top.

Now I am pretty much a newbie to diesels, but I am assuming the same ideals apply.

Also, can the ABS sensors be turned off in the tune?

There is no droning in the cabin. I can't even here the thing any more.

CRD Joe,

The Striker I Diesel Power Module install was an easy install, took 15 minutes.

The improvement to the engine idle noise and rattle is a beautiful thing. You can lower the idle pressure very simply with a push of a button, This part of the device is what makes it worth every penny.

I think it's on sale for $99.00 now ..... I paid a lot more than that back in November (hundreds more).

what regulator are you talking about? your link just goes to painless performance page that has no regulators
