Well I got the rear and drivers front done today. We were having spring compressor problems and it took longer than expected to get it on. But the shop I was working at closed so I had to leave with a 3/4ths lift. I also realized that there was a small hole in the lbj so I'm going to have to replace that. Anyone know how much they run and are they carried in stock at stores?

Didn't get pictures because it got dark.

Gonna take some measurements tomorrow too. Gonna be exciting!!

my g/fs dad's tacoma has a bad ball joint, and it cost him $50 but he has a discount through his pumpin' company... it would have been like $300 without it!

there was a LCA recall, check the jeep recall website with your vin to see if it ever got the replacement

is it more of a creak? probably just your swaybar, mine made all sorts of racket after i lifted it for about a month

it's just your swaybar bushings creaking

nothing wrong

if it gets too annoying, pop the clamshells off and wash them off and put some white lith on them and bolt it back down

Well If I can get the dealership to do it for free then I'll have them do it.

If you already have the knuckle out, repalce the balljoint with the Moog K3199. It will have a zerk coming off a flat on the side of the joint. Many parts houses say they have the moog, but eh zerk is on top of the joint.

Having two KJ's I bought a press from for the joints (as it can be used for u-joints also). My 02 had i believe 4 sets of factory joints..(all garbage) put in (was previously my Dad's ride)

A few sharp hits witha 3# sledge will remove the old joint, a beer, stoogie and five minutes later, the noew joint is pressed in.

Note: I had to cut about 3/4 of an inch off the hex of the press so taht it fit the KJ knuckle without the angled shoes.

I will see if I can persuade the dealership to do it for free for me under recall. Maybe theres a certain warranty or something, I will see.
If not I will invest in moogs and a grease gun.
