Are you needing to repair a front or rear window? He has fixes for both types of rear glass.

What is your build date?

Steiger has repair kits for the front now, I just repaired my daughter's 2007 gas Liberty driver's door regulator for the second time, it does not have the TSB 23-014-08 glass with 2 connection points.

The single point connection system that was used on the front glass of the Liberty from Feb 2006 through 2007 also had a glass tipping issue.
The tipping issue is better handled by TSB 23-014-08 which goes back to the glass 2 point connection system that was used prior to Feb 2006.

I added a spot of silicone glue to the glass bed of the Steiger repair part to try to hold the glass solid and try to avoid the tipping of the glass.

Jon doesn't have this part on his web site yet, call and ask for it.

So there is a way for me to use his fix.

Give Jon Steiger a call, or email him. He has the part in production but doesn't have the instructions finished yet.

Another fix that I have done on several Liberty window regulators is with 3/32" cotter pins.
You remove the regulator and disassembly it by drilling out the 1/8" pop rivet in the nylon piece at the top, bend the two metal tabs straight and pull the fuzzy spiral cable out.
The part that breaks is the attachment between fuzzy spiral cable to the nylon window bed.
You pop a couple of 3/32" cotter pins around the bottom of the fuzzy spiral cable, drill 2 3/32" holes in what's left of the nylon window bed, bend over the cotter pins in the back side of the nylon window bed, cover the bent over cotter pin ends with epoxy and reassemble.
I have repaired 3 of my daughter's windows this way and so far so good, about 3 months.

Try their fix and never replace the regulator again. The reason the stock one breaks is that the plastic the worm gear goes into on the carrier is weak. This one is steel. Put one in my port-side rear door a while back, and am very pleased.

*EDIT* Looks like Steiger has replacements for fronts as well as back windows now.

Looks good linewarbr, I will be buying one, had my first regulator failure in the 06 Sport. :dead:

I put in my http://www.steigerperformance.com regulator today, and this is the real deal for a permanent fix for less then $100.00. Took me about an hour and a half for my first one, the next time should be about 45 minutes now that I know what I am doing. Comparison, OE is a piece POS of molded plastic. Steiger regulator, is made out of steel with some nice welds and a krinkle black finish. It is the strongest component inside of the door now.
