Has anyone out there or does anyone know if it is possible to have a locking rear differential with ESP in a 2006 liberty.

ESP uses the brakes and electronic sensors (2 in the rear on a 2006, I think), so locking the diff would basically just make the ESP never do anything :)

I have had an Aussie locker in my '06 with AT for about 9 months now. Seems to work well and haven't had any problems with it. Good manners on snow and ice and don't have to put her in 4WD as often. Installed it myself in about 2 hours at home, taking my time and following the instructions. I also turn off the ESP when I start her.

I turn it off because I do not like the hesitation that occurs when wheel spin is detected. Even with the locker, accelerating on ice or snow could cause wheel spin and then the ESP would kick in and cause the vehicle to hesitate. Seems better with the ESP turned off.

They want to know how you shut it off

I just press the button on the steering column to turn it off. I know this does not fully disable it, but it shuts it off enough to be less annoying.

just pull the ABS pump fuse under the hood and it will be completely gone :).. .no having to shut it off... no computer telling you what to do... and you can crank some mean donuts without it making you go straight!!! just add some black electrical tape to the dashboard to cover all 3 warning lights :)

when you put the fuse back in it self diagnoses and clears the lights.
