you want to take off the whole rear fascia instead of just the individual insert components i'd think, would be easier

there's some pop rivets around the flares and to the body similar to what holds the grill on if i recall correctly, it's been awhile :(

if you're referring to the plastic rivets, you can get reuseable rivets or get a plastic rivet and rivet gun

typically you'll just cut the head of the rivet off, or drill it out to remove it is the easiest course of action

i think most of the rivets holding the rear fascia on are reuseable push pin? i could be quite wrong tho, when mine came off it came off for good so i dont remember to be honest

btw, here's another idea for you that wont require removal

works with TJ flares and lawn chairs and pretty much any plastic or rubberized plastic

run a heat gun across it carefully, it'll vaporize the oxidation off of it, and turn it back black, done it myself a few times

some people also swear by marvel mystery oil on the rough black plastic like sport flares and what not too, but i haven't tried that myself

Yeah, I wish I'd have seen this earlier, I broke a couple on mine. I don't think they are replacable, those rivets under that top piece were molted to it I thought. I was going to use some 3m VHB tape to stick it back down permanently.

You have to take off the entire bumper plastic as one piece. To do this you have to remove 3 screws under the tailgate, a couple screws through the rear on the underside which are very obvious, then there is a clip or two between the bumper and the wheel well, two self tapping bolts ran into the fender that you get to once you take the flares off, and the flare has a clip into it as well.

Do the heat gun thing, I would advise against removal of flares unless it is absolutely necessary, they tend to loosen a little when you take them off and on.

I've been thinking of spraying all of the gray plastic pieces with bedliner. Do you guys take them all off or just leave them on and mask it off?

Well i just cut the heads off the rivets and went to that parts store and bought some that you cant remove and reuse then...so when i get ready to paint pull the rivets out and the other thing just comes up!!
