sorry if i missed this somewhere, didn't search for it. i recently got a fuel service and just before that got the oil changed and additive was dumped in with it as well. my kj runs a lot smoother now, but now that it's done, i want to keep it running good. :seuss:

i remember reading somewhere that overusing fuel additive can kill your exhaust cat's but i wanted to confirm this.

also, just wanted to see if anyone had a certain additive schedule that seems to do well for them. i would really hate to waste money for additives just to have it cause even more issues. i have only used BG additives so far.

Only use fuel additives maybe once or twice a year at max.Once about every 30k for a crankcase cleaners since they cause "washing" of the cylinder walls and you don't want that, you shouldn't need a crankcase cleaner at all if using a good quality oil anyways.

If you use a "top tier" gas you really should not need additives- or at least not very often. Fuel additives with PEA is what you want. Techron has it, and it is about 1/3 of the price of bg44k and just as effective. good luck.

In prevois gassers I would use Fuel ingector cleaner in the tank after every oil change. oil was changed every 3000 miles. never had a fuel issue with my subarus but had leaky injector o rings in the Maximia not long after I got it.

with the Diesel in every tank in winter I put in a little Power service due to anti gell properties it has. in the summer I have used the silver bottle of power service a few times.

Since I use Synthetic oil in my CRD I have not been using additives in the oil expept some seafoam the last time just before my oil change as a pre-cleaner.

Use Redline SI-1, Gumout Regane (fuel system, NOT fuel injector) or Chevron Concentrate with Techron. These contain the highest concentrations of PEA. Do not put anything in your oil! There are multiple reasons, but the most basic is that it upsets the chemistry of the oil which could result in severe engine damage rather than doing any good.

Hmm, well to be fair, I have thought of that before. However, I have never had it ruin anything. Always ran better after it.

Anything that gives positive results is good to me. :seuss:
