So you mean this is your best bet??

With the above kit I will still have to fond someplace to reassemble the struts correct?

And you will still have more wear on the drive line then without a lift...Whether it's the RK or the JBA there are still drive line issues that will have to be addressed...eventually..

I am just stating fro the OP the fact that no matter what you do you are modifying the suspension, some kits will be worse then others but they ALL lead to premature wear of "STOCK" components..

Doing it right the first time does not have that much effect on the stock componants. Getting the UCA's that help with alignment and bump stops to help with over travel help your stock parts live a happy life with your aftermarket parts. If you go too high your rear u-joints and front cv's won't be happy. The hardest thing on your stock parts is what you do with your jeep after its lifted. We all say that we are going to be nice to it and before ya know it we are going after it with bedliner to cover the scratches on the belt line and replacing parts that went bad due to user abUSE.

Hey everyone...ive been doing hours and hours of investigation on different lift kits for the KK and as much as i would like to pull the trigger on a real deal JBA lift I simply dont have the dough....so for me it looks like the rock krawler lift for the KK is my best option.....my questions for the lost community are..

1. will the dealership laugh at me when i bring it in for service and void my suspension warranty ?
2. how reliable will this lift be over time ( i plan on keeping the jeep ) ?
3. can i do this install myself or should i fork over the cash for a pro ?
4. are there any accompanying mods i should do to make the lift perform better ?
5. is it true that my factory components will fail prematurely do to this "budget" lift?

i really appreciate the help guys!!!!!!

I have the RK kit so here's my 411

1. NOPE, I've been to two different dealerships and never once has anyone said anything to me about the lift or even asked what lift it is ... Don't think anyone really cared ... It's a Jeep not a Benz
2. August will be 1 year the RK has been installed and I haven't had any issues and I've done A LOT of off-roading with it and a lot of Highway driving.
3. Myself and a buddy of mine did the install with basic hand tools in about 2 hours
4. Extended rear shocks is a MUST, I'm using BDS right now and am very happy with them. Also JBA A-Arms would be a good add but not a must, I'm not using them and haven't had any issues.
5. I wouldn't say "fail" but it will put more strain on some of the factory components. Nothing to strain in the rear as long as you get the new shocks. The front I think the main "stress" point would be the A-Arms which you could save up and get a few months after the install.

I haven't updated my page in a long time, it still says I have Skyjacker shocks but I got rid of them about 4 months ago for the BDS, but you can see some pics and videos of my lift kit and some pics of me off-roading with the kit installed.

August will be 1 year that I've had my RK kit installed and I couldn't be more happy with it. The ride quality is great and I have a little more clearance off-road. Everything I was looking for.

i got mine in the works too.... should have it soon... also changing the shocks to the bilsteins off the JBA website( front(stock) and back(2.5" of lift), as well as the UCAs. will probably replace the rear and front springs eventually too... i'm pumped to get everything and to get it all done... question thouse can i also add conduits to level/ give a bit more lift? if i do the rear a little higher will i need SS brake lines?

my to do list has grown a whole lot, now i just need to do everything lol

I don't have a lift but used Boilers shims for my front.Got rid of the nose dive look. I bought 4 conduit nuts, but didn't use them. My clevis had a knurl and 2 rings(about 3/8's) was not enough. So I'd say use Boilers shims for about 5/8 to 3/4 lift. Great service and product.

anyone know if i can combine the shims with the RK lift? no issues right?

in the rear that would give me approximately 3" would that be an issue with the Brake lines?

As long as you have the A-Arms i dont see it being an issue. If not you already an issue with contact and this would only make it worse. Only trying it would tell for certain though cause im pretty sure nobody has tried it yet. Also this wont raise your rear any, you could use some iso pads though and gain more height. I think your rear brake lines should be fine if you leave the rear sway bar intact also.

Don't quote me but yes if you keep the re-sway bar and tie rods this will limit the amount of droop that can occur so you stock brack lines should be fine.
