I know.... Beefing up the offense is all good, but if you can't stop being burned in the secondary on defense

That's what free agency is for.

I think to have a strong secondary you need to have a good mix of both veterans and young players. The veterans know the tricks, may have played a certain receiver enough times to know his moves and predict his routes, but may not have the explosiveness to play the ball like a rookie can. Rookies have speed and explosiveness, but can be easier fooled and burnt.

What is the Bronco's current secondary roster? Has there been any talk of free-agent acquisitions?

The Broncos defense is looking pretty decent. They were amazing in the first half of the season. Just need to make sure they keep that up.

Turning on Tebow? I believe you supported him earlier. And yeah I think Tebow will be great. McDaniels got all of the whinny little girls out of Denver (Cutler, Marshall, Shefler) and got in a guy who you don't even have to worry about off field issues. Plus he was one of the best college QB's of all time. There's no cookie cutter way of getting ready for the NFL, so Tebow doubters have only speculation. You just wait...

Brett Favre needs to get out. He's still a great QB but just keeps on losing respect from me. Quit while you're ahead and before you get yourself killed.

Brett is still a top 10 QB. Most of the teams in the NFL would love to have him because thir QB's suck and they keep drafting duds.

Of course, the O-line IS the most important part of a successful QB. Then you have to have Receivers to throw to. If they can't get open or follow their required routes properly either, then the QB is dead meat.

His skills are great, which is why he needs to quit while he is ahead. He has talent, but another part is being able to take big hits. Towards the end of last year it took him a long time to get up from some. He's like a glass statue just waiting to crumble back there.

I gotta disagree with you, murph. I think the LAST thing Brett Favre is is a glass staue; that dude is TOUGH. But at his age, it's more an issue of recovery time. If you're 25, and you sprain your ankle badly, you can be at 80% in a week, and back to 100% in 3 weeks. At 40+, even with the strenuous conditioning an NFL player does, you are looking at 50% in one week, 60% in 3 weeks, and 100% in about 8 weeks. Add to that the years of abuse his body has endured, and it's a recipe for little nagging injuries hampering him more and more as the season goes on.

I'm not saying I think he should retire; he should play as long as he can - if he is playing well.

Glad to see the topic is almost heading into next season

. I absolutely love this sport and any chance I get to watch some of it on ESPN I get excited. Even though it's the same preseason, training camp, T.O. not getting signed stuff every day it's better than nothing.

Gettin ready to watch my former App State QB as a member of my hometown Carolina Panthers. Should be fun... And linewarbr, I've been a Chapel Hill fan all of my life, when you're born in NC you have to choose between them or Duke. So I'll be rooting against your Tigers
