The Jeep CRD's weren't designed to race in the first place anyway enjoy it, hope nothing gives in with the extra grunt

Play with some V-8 Explorers and Blazers. Then leave them in a cloud of black smoke :goink:

I got the enjoyment of embarrassing an 80s model Camaro a couple weeks ago. I normally drive like an old man to conserve diesel....but if some nut wants to play, we'll play.

He rode my bumper for several miles. Finally traffic opened up some so I moved over to the right lane and he sped around me. BUT>...a red light caught us both and we ended up side by side. Obviously I knew that when green dropped...he'd mash it. So I did the same thing. :) I pulled on him hard through 2nd gear...then it was evenly matched through 55 MPH or so. Granted...the V8s of the 1980s weren't anything compared to the V8s of today. But it was still a classic kill. "Cute" Liberty SUV trounces 1980s sports car. :ROTFL:

You would have killed him had you kept in it. I have raced a CRD in my KK and can say that off of the line, I can kill them, but as soon as that little motor spools up, I'm used meat as they pull so hard after 50

Smoking an 80 sports v8 sports car is cool.... I had a 90's eclipse that was messing with me a few weeks ago. the guy didn't want to let me mearge over to the right nicely like I wanted since the lane I was in was going to become left turn only soon. Since he had plenty of open road ahead of him and a line of cars behind I mashed the the pedal and muscled my way in ahead of him, it must have upset him that a cute SUV could out run him cus the hispanic goon chased me for nearly a mile then tried to threaten me with his fat old lady telling him to shut his trap in english and spanish when he caught up with me at a red light. I was not scared are all. I have a 9mm

Wohaa..Keep the weapons out of this MIKEY, road rage is not worth it and it's never a good thing.

Needless to say our CRD is a powerhouse that outperforms many vehicles on the road today.

When that turbo spools it turns heads.

I am just loving this quick little mule.

Anybody else agree?

I would never even draw a weapon or use it unless I was really seriously threatened. I do not like road rage at all or how others act and need to be so comptitive on the road. I just like to know I can defend myself if I have to. The dude was pooking and then just decided not to let the gringo in the cute SUV over when I tried.

I don't have a tune yet and yes our engine is a powerhouse that tends to take some by suprise. I still have some guys at work that don't get how it only has 160 HP and like what 295 foot pounds of torque. They have no idea how that relates to it being powerful. They think only in HP cus they are used to gassers.

I tried to explain that.... but well they the dude didn't get it at all. He went back to "well its only a 4 cylinder engine don't you think it should be a 6?" me: "well the 4 cylinder turbo diesel makes nearly the torque of a gas V8 so why would I need a 6 in that other that to brag, spin the tires more and use more fuel?"

Reply: "well if you say so I guess"
