Hi, Could somebody answer a few confusing questions.

1.Am I correct stating that we have struts in the front and shocks in the back?

2.If I was to replace the struts and shocks w/no lift, should and can you replace oem size with longer ones now for a possible lift in the future? Are there any cons in doing so if possible?

3.Is there a certain size to purchase for both the front and rear with a possible 2.5 lift in the future?

4.What types are the best for all around performance on/off road, nitro,gas..?

4.Should you always replace your springs when replacing shocks and struts?

Thanks for reading and answering!

Not sure about all of those, but one reason not to get longer shocks in the rear, is that if you end up flexing real good, you spring will pop out.

So basically if the shock in the rear has more travel than the totally expanded spring you could risk the spring coming out of it's seat and not going back in properly when it comes back down to rest. So you would need longer springs for the new shocks?

It has happened to a few people out on the trails, including one person that had a shock mount bust and his spring came out.

Yeah the 2.5" lift springs that OME sell also Rusty's and Frankenlift have longer springs.

1. The libbys really do not have struts, people call them that, but its really called coil over shocks.

2. No, like its all ready been said, the springs will fall out in the rear. On the front it would kinda stupid to take the coil over apart and not go ahead and get a new longer spring, but you can get longer stuts with stock springs im sure.

3. With a lift, many people are getting ome front stuts, and Rancho RSX's on the rear. Those allow for alot of flex in the rear!

4. Front: Ome, rustys. Rear: Rancho rsx, ome, Rustys(some people do not like rustys, some do? Idk)

4(should be 5, hehe). You dont have to replace springs when you replace shocks. My ome rear shocks are only around 1/2 longer than the stock shocks, so they would be fine to get with the stock springs. The Rancho's would let it fall out, it would really fall out and roll away. The frankin lift comes with extra bumpstops that go on the bottom of the spring seat to keep it from falling out.
