Definitely depends on where you live as to which models are popular/sold. I'm in NYC and I think I might be one of the only 6spd Liberty's. I was at a dealer and one of the service guys said to me, "I didn't even know they made manual Liberties." Everyone I talk to is surprised I have a manual.

I wish mine was a six-speed manual.

I love manual's but the traffic here in northern VA is QUITE common. My Dodge Stealth was a 5-spd and at times I wanted to throw in the parking brake and sit there in the middle of traffic for a few minutes to give my leg a rest.

When I grew up and started to drive a manual tranny was all they had. The darn things are just about indestructable and are a lot smaller than an automatic.

The first car we bought our granddaughter a few years ago was a 4X4 Izusu Rodeo with stick shift. That is what she learned to drive. It was funny... none of her boyfriends could drive her car. :-)r She grumbled about having to shift the tranny until she got a Ford Explorer with automatic. Now she wants her Rodeo back.

They say the same thing about my KK..... I have one of the few 08's built with a manual.

I get that, too. I went to get the skids and the parts guy told me that the 3.7/6spd combo was not produced. This confused me greatly. I did not know how to drive home as either my engine or transmission must have been missing from my jeep due to the unavailable combo that I have... :D
