Or at least thats what I am seeing

Thats correct. The new extended bung on the left is the new fill. A new drain was added to bottom.

I can see it now on my "big screen" PC. That's what I get for asking questions about photos after viewing them on the netbook :)

Gee, something about that looks vaguely familiar??? Looks good!!!!! It still takes a slight mod of the mounting bracket for the oil fill though, not much of a big deal. How did it clear the oil pan and cross member?

Both spots look like they have enough clearance, We will see once I've put some miles on it. My mechanic said the install was a breeze. The only issue was having to cut the front bracket to clear the fill.

I won't get it back until Monday, needed a new drivers side front wheel bearing.

Its in :pepper: :pepper:

Got about 40 miles on it, runs quiet and smooth. Now I've got to put some break-in miles before I use the locker. :D

Put about 1500 miles on the new diff, changed the gear oil at 900 miles and took it off road a little bit.
my observations :
Gears have smoothed out significantly after break-in and the whole diff is rotating with little resistance. The initial tightness from a freshly built diff is no longer noticeable.

2WD - absolutely quiet and smooth under no-load

Full Time 4WD - Smooth and quiet up to 65 mph, got a little gear noise above 65. Discovered I was running the front tires about 5 psi lower than the rear. Once that was corrected, no longer heard any gear whine.

Part Time 4WD and 4LO - absolute confidence that this chunk is not going to blow up.
