My interior lights are always on now. How can I check the door switches? I don't see the light button/switch on the door frame like in older model vehicles. Is it inside the locking mechanism? How do I get in there to check the light switch? Thanks anyone who can help.

First make sure you have you light switch set to the right spot. Check the manual for location. Seen someone freakout about this before, the switch was in the wrong spot. The door ajar is what triggers the interior courtsey lights. Motor City if your in Detroit..PM I live in Detroit...Willing to help...Chris

2003 GCES, Thanks, of course I checked the light switch on the multifuction switch arm. It still may be the multifuction arm that I must replace but I want to check the door switch (drivers side) first. How do I get in to check that switch? Where is it? Thanks to anyone who can help with this problem.

Door Ajar Switch is what your looking for. It's part of the latch in the door....Theres one in each door & rear glass....Check the repair manual...for removal.Fun to remove....Section 23 Body....The door ajar switches cannot be repaired or adjusted.....They can be checked with a simple testing tool...Chris

Thanks Chris. Now the problem is intermittent so I'm guessing the door switches as okay. Where is the dimmer relay located? In the front overhead light assembly? In the fuse box? Does anyone have a picture, part number or just help me with location? Thanks.

Thanks Chris. I've read the other posts about the multifuction switch but was going to check other things first before buying the whole stalk. Funny thing is that it's gone away now. Like a ghost. I have to now wait for a hard break to troubleshoot it further, if it ever returns. One thing that I may have done was I lowered the brightness on the dimmer a few notches (like I read as a temperary fix on the other posts) and that may have done it which would indicate the stalk for sure. I'm not sure that is what fixed it yet so I will wait now for a hard fail. Thanks again for your help.
