Looks like it would make for some quick work of belt changes and such......but what are the cons if any? i mean is, or will there be an effect on cooling temp etc.....

I would opt for those screw clip thingies for a better hold than screw to 1/8 inch plastic.

I recently replaced the accessory belt and wasted an hour of my life trying to get the new one on until I made this from welding stock:

Yes, I know, how obvious. But it just worked so well. Easily under 5 minutes and the belt was on.

Squeeto,

I just don't get what it is that you did.

Can you elaborate or take a few pics?

Now, if you've ever tried to replace a belt in a confined space :banghead: you'll know it's a belt manipulator.

...or even better put the stainless tabs on the inside - tapped or use nutserts - and screw through the plastic with a washer and lock washer.

I'm looking for pictures of the 2 piece fan shroud mod.

Can anybody set me up with a link? The pictures are gone from the link in this thread.

Send me an email, not a PM, and I can send you a Word copy of that post with pictures. FYI a much simpler approach is to simply cut the bottom 1/2 of the shroud off just below the mounting bolt tabs and throw the bottom 1/2 into recycle. Then just remount top 1/2 which provides all the air flow routing and protection of fingers in rotating fan you need. Consider some minor added plastic surgery to clear AC fittings and hoses for future removal/install.

Sorry jrsavoie but I no longer supply content to LOST and I have edited many of my past threads and posts to remove my content.

Don't bother replying as I rarely even look at this Forum anymore.
