A couple of months ago Robert Farago (founder and former editor of Thetruthaboutcars.com, and the founder and editor of Thetruthaboutguns.com) called me up and asked me if I would be willing to write a big adventure novel for his TTAG web site that he would publish as a weekly serial.

I agreed to give it a shot and spread my fiction-writing wings. So far, the first five chapters have posted (more to come each week) and I would invite you to give it a read.

I hope you enjoy it. If not, read no further and keep your stinkin’ comments to yourself! (Just kidding – I really would like some critical feedback so I can learn how to make this better.)

Excellent, very vivid writing. I can smell the salt and the creak of the rigging. Looking forward to chapter 6 as well.

I hate to read, very short attention span! I must say this has me wanting to read more of what you wrote.

Thank you all for your positive feedback. I've already submitted chapters 6 and 7. They should post Monday next week (6) and the week following (7). Beyond that, I have the specifics of chapters 8-10 in my head, although I still need to commit them to paper (so to speak). I'll refresh the links on this thread as they roll out.

Chapter 7 is now up. The story is moving right along and things are starting to pick up. I hope you enjoy it.

NOTE: TTAG underwent a WordPress update over the weekend. As these things go, it has been running intermittently slow with the new software. The site Web gurus are working to exterminate the bugs. Until then, it might take a few ticks of the clock longer than normal for the page to open.

I can't get in tonight from my home pc, maybe because I am still dial up here :roll:

I will try tomorrow at work, I am really liking this story and wanting to read more of it. Maybe I do like to read but just haven't found the right story to grab me like this one. :POPCORN:

I took a brief hiatus to accompany a crew of Venture Scouts on a deep sea fishing expedition off the coast of Texas (no oil!). After a week off, Chapter 8 - Bert and Ernie has at long last posted.

NOTE: The upgrade demons that caused the site to go down two weeks ago have been exercised and it has been running fast and flawless since.
