My brother and I have been hanging around this forum for the past few days as we are looking at buying a lifted KJ which is awesome, as i realize it is hard to find one with a lift and offroad ready. The issue is that I know about TJs as I have one but am completely LOST at KJs and IFS stuff. Wondering if someone from this forum could come out with us and check it out before we put the money in hand and buy a car with problem unknown now.

Issues:
Has was looks like a 3" lift and 32" tires, old man emu shocks. The issue arrises whenever we hit bumps going down the road it will pound, not hard, but make a noticable jolt. I was thinking balljoints but then thought it could be the arms of the axle hitting something, like the coil. Been reading on here and it could be the sway bar, or bumpstops?

JEEP IS IN DEARBORN, MI

If someone could help that would be awesome. Please email me eugene.black@comcast.net

probally the sway bar. No biggie, I had a horrible popping noise in my kj after I lifted it, it actually ended up twisting the swaybar link. I'm having some flex joint links that are a little bit longer than stock made up once I have the time.

Hoping thats the issue, ill know more tomorrow when I take a look again. At first I thought it was the coil but saw no rub marks, so that was ruled out. Than when I got home I started thinking about the ball joints, but had the shop its at go over the entire suspension and check both upper and lower ball joints. Ill have to bet its the sway bar as I have gone over alot of the issues in my head tonight and it would make the most sense, although I will have to double check the prior issues stated.

Its appears to be a pretty decent deal (dont they all). 04 with 80K on the body, 50K on engine. Rebuilt title (not sure why, wasnt in a wreck, guessing engine went out and insurance just totalled it) has lift, tires, DC-1s, and an arb bumper with winch. Awesome body. What would something like this be worth??

Ill keep you informed, I have to admit, I love my built TJ (lockers, chromolys, 35's, and every armor imaginable), but these KJs are awesome lifted and just look like a fun vehicle. If i didnt put so much money into my TJ after I payed it off I might just trade to the KJ side.

BTW thanks tommud ill keep everyone posted and post some pictures.

Wanna just trade your TJ for my KJ.
Straight trade, I'll even drive to IL. :D

I'm thinking its the sway bar.
After I put my lift on I didn't tighten down the sway bar completely and it make a little racket.
tightened it up nice and tight and all was good in the neighborhood. 8)
