First time home buyer

I am so excited, my wife and I made our first offer on a house yesterday!!! Today it is really setting in that I may actually be owning my own house soon. I really don't know how people can stand to go through this process more than once in their lives!!! All the paperwork and the waiting and the paperwork and the waiting. Oh well gonna keep my jeep peps updated.

No its great to have your own place do what you want with it and not worry!

Congrats.

My 4 week closing was the longest 4 weeks of my life. Can't imagine what it must be like to do something like a 75 day closing!

Congrats, its a good thing to own your own place.... the money you put in to it will be yours not like renting where it goes to the landloard or some company that owns appartment complexes. It is also a good way to gain wealth over the long term. Buying my first house was a nightmare from hell and it took over 6 months of trying to wrk out the mortgage and the closing. I sold that place 8 years later and made a profit on it. Now I am in a 2 unit fixer and when its fixed up in a few years and the economy is back I will have something great. Real Estate is a good investment and you will never loose on it if you keep it up and hold it long enough. THe things you will learn will suprize you too, but it all comes with a lot of satisfaction.

Good news is there is no furnace it is electric radient heat in all the rooms. Believe it or not the guy that is renting the place right now has been there for two winters and has never had an electric bill over $200!!! Also there is no gas for anything it is all electric and has a well so that runs on electric also.

I told my wife that there was alot of room in the front yard for jeep parking!!! She said that's fine after we get settled in. Plus I just got a new charcoal grill for my b-day that is about 5ft long and 2ft deep. Need to put it to use. Too bad its only a single car garage but it will be full of tools and yes my jeep will fit in the door so I think anyone elses would too.

Good luck on the negotiations, stump. Real Estate is a definite investment. Even with the sorry economy, my house still has about $20K of equity in it. that's a good thing, since I may have to sell it soon. . . .

Technically, home ownership in the US is an illusion... it's only leased to you as long as you pay your property taxes...

My home in Ft Lauderdale has been paid for since 2005 but if I don't pay the taxes Broward County feels they deserve; it's gone!

Offer accepted after 2 offers!!!!!!!!! Now it's on to the inspection and other good crap!!! Too bad this process takes so LONG I want to move in now!!!
