I have been having a noise that I couldn't find. The dealer didn't find it when I had it in for a general going over for a trip to PA. Well, today I crawled underneath with a flash light, in the middle of the day I might add, here is what I found: "LINK, Sway Eliminator" on the front passenger side. I can see why it was hard to find. You really can't see that it is broken. I grabbed a hold of it to try and rattle it ...it MOVED! Broken!

Am I right in assuming that a trail did that all by it's self without me doing anything! At least that is what I'll tell the wife...a broken bushing and have to replace the whole part. That sounds good!

Terry

EDIT:
It's #11

Wow that could have ended bad if the sway bar moved and obstructed steering. Are you gonna replace the whole sway bar since its bent?? Or just make the old one work.

I found the end links on Advance Auto's website for $40.99. Theyre Moog, which are pretty good stuff, wholesalemopar.com has the jeep ones for $37.57, Go figure. MSRP was $51.xx. Either way, not too bad for a fully broken part. The dealer will probably charge MSRP.

Youre coming to PA?
I wish I was going back to FL. :(

My sway bar didn't get bent. That was someone else. Yep, going to visit my brother, sister and daughter in PA. Up in Meadville. I'm supposed to hook up with a member in Jamestown, PA and do some wheeling but I accidentally deleted his email and now I don't remember who it was. Any ideas?

Had the same thing happen to mine, heard loud pops for a bit then noticed that my sway bar had twisted and broken away. It seems that when we lift these kj's the sway bar links don't like it very much. I drive with no sway bars for now & its fine, don't have a lot of body roll. Took it up to Jersey from NC last year with no sways and we lived. I'm having a freind fab up some longer sway links with flex joints on the ends so any twisting will be dealt with.

No problem. I got a hold of him. I can't break the nuts loose so far. I have some blaster on them right now.

Shoot, if I had known about it earlier today I probably could have driven down there and helped you get it off.

I finally reached my friend with the compressor. I'm going over there at 8AM to change them out.
