The wife said no to the $400 rock rails I wanted :( , but said yes to the $50 in steel I am going to buy and do it myself. :D Was just wondering were most of them are mounted? Does anyone here have some pics of there mounting points? Just need a little help on which would be the best spot. Going to pick it up tomarrow and start cutting. Then off to my buddy to weld. I will take pics along the way and share what I have with the rest of you. Thanks.

What size metal are you using, and where did you get it from?
I'm thinking of making my own too, so if you get any pics along your fab and install be sure to pass them on :)
Thanks!

Thanks everyone. But I was the first  . Running into some fab troubles but all will workout in the end. I am starting to see why the good rails are so much. The first mesurment I have is the rail itself, 69". Looks good just have to find the best way to hang it. The support beams coming off the fram are as fallow from front to rear: 10 3/4"=9"=8 1/4"Going to get some mounting brackets within the next couple of days then weld and mesure the next set off of them. Will keep you all informed :D

69" is to long if your looking for wheel well to wheel well.
