had to jump start the engine this weekend bc the battery was gone. It was raining a lot most of the trip and was using ac, wipers and head lights. Drove the jeep on the way back and the battery light came ON so I had to get a battery at the first place I could get to, got a Bosch battery from pepboys. Now that I'm home I see the battery has 12.7v or 12.8v when engine is not running then 13.88v with engine warm and idling, seems a bit low so I was wondering if the alternator is on its way out. Cables look good connections are clean and I use battery terminal protector on them so that should not be a problem.

Any tips? Thank You in advance.

Also, anyone rebuild them or is it better to just replace it? and if I replace it does it matter if I use 136amp or 160amp, bc they have both at the autoparts store.

Thank You again.

Your good to go,13.88volts is good.

Typically you want between 13.5v-14.5v when running, any less or anymore is bad.
