If I purchased some Cragar wheels (16x7 // 5x4.5 // 4 Backspacing) to fit 2007 jeep liberty and installed the spidertrax spacers, think a 245/75/16 would work without lift and without much trim/weld pound? Something with similar tread to a BFGoodrich A/T or General AT2

only if you never turn corners, back up or go over bumps.

you can drive straight on flat roads - no problem.

( a couple of folks have done it for a week or so because they couldn't do everything in one weekend - but there's not much space)

Like stated above would not work
even if it did why would you buy wheels with 4 inches of backspacing then add wheel spacers :?

As stated above, it won't work. And as Tom mentioned, why 4" of BS and then add spacers?. This will knock your BS to 2.75", you tires will stick out a good 2" or so from the wheel well.

I currently have 1.25" spider trax spacers on the stock 5.5" BS rims(5.5"-1.25" = 4.25"BS) with 245/75/R16. This places my tire right at the outside edge of the wheel well, and if it wasn't for the 2.5"+ of lift and the ARB bumper I'd be rubbing something awful.

With no lift you will be able to put a larger tire on stock rims, then you would on rims with less BS. My wifes liberty isn't lifted yet, pinch weld isn't pounded, and the largest tire we could fit with no rubbing on stock rims was 235/70/R16 BFG AT's. Go to a rim with less BS and even this size will cause you problems.

oh, just figured letting it stick out some would clear some stuff from rubbing....

I see a lot of people running 245 70 16 without rubbing and without lift, so figured with the spacers, what is another 5 on the aspect,

besides, sticking out 2 inches means more mud on the jeep and not the wheel wells, lmao
but ok, so bad idea...

i'll just save for a lift!!

The tires sticking out that far unlifted would cause all kinds of problems with hitting the flares etc. any time you turned, went over bumps, curbs etc

I'm curious about what tire they are as well? I know my 245/75/R16 BFG AT's would rub bad on an 02(spacers would make it worse, not better). Also, are the stock steel rims the same 5.5" back spacing as the alum rims?, I can't imagine that they would be different. And secondly what year Lib?

Oh and lastly, my 1.25" Spidertrax spacers are up for sale if anyone is interested.

so spacers make it further away from inner suspension/sway bars but will probably rub the outer items like fender/bumper plastic?

lol

I'm just trying to think of a setup that will work without a lift.
