I can hear Devo playing in the background. If you don't know what that means, look it up.

A society is set by standards of morals and decency. When you let a society go to run its own way, chaos ensues.

As for Sir Sam and your seatbelt statement: While people should have a right to wear one or not, your actions affect many others in terms of money and sometimes injury or death. While wearing a seatbelt doesn't always save lives and sometimes can cause more injury, those are small. More people are less injured or killed by wearing a seatbelt. Also, there can be times when not wearing one causes you less control of your vehicle (g-forces preventing you from staying put so you can control the vehicle). Anything that affects other people's lives, in public, should have restrictions.

The use of the F word regularly in daily conversation is a sign of a weak vocabulary and character. It also tells me you are trying to get attention.

I have never heard my dad use the word, ever, and I have, many times, made him mad while I was growing up. He was in the Navy also. I served in the military and retired and I rarely use the word (stubbing little toe not included, though I use the sh_t word in that case). I see no need for it, especially on public TV.

If you mow your backyard once, then leave it to its own ways and come back a year later, it will not have maintained order nor become more ordered, it will be a suburban jungle. The natural Law of Entropy is that nature goes from order to disorder, and the same natural law proves true for society. Without order of law - which is based in morality and the concept of decency - a society will descend into anarchy. Throwing off restrictions that are based in morality and decency is not a good idea for the overall health of society, IMHO.
(*Just for the record, this logic can also be used to argue the existence of and continued involvement of God, and is an argument against the theories of the big bang and evolution - but I won't go there or a sermon will ensue  )

Agreed, although I must say I know of no other word in the English language that can be used as a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, direct object, and indirect object. It's actually kind of fascinating. In fact I think the only grammatical function I have not seen it used as is as a preposition.

But does that not in itself prove that those who use it regularly have a limited vocabulary?

i dont think using the f word is a low vocabulary...it is the consistency of how often you use it and how you put it into your grammar...like, using it more than once in a sentence, that shows low class...using it in a lot of your every day speech, thats a week vocabulary. (but authors use it a lot  )

It's just a way of expressing yourself. Individuality at it's freakin finest.

Can't call it individuality if everyone uses it. Kinda like the Punk Rockers having mohawks back in the 70's/80's. Individuality....but then a lot of people had them so they lost that. Same goes with tats and piercings. People start to follow trends and become bandwagon climbers. No longer an individuality thing. Look at the Fauxhawk.
