First I would like to to thank everyone for the information on this forum as I have had all the common problems others have had. Next I would like to tell everyone that have been collecting and running used dyno oil for years and my 06 Liberty has completely paid for itself just on fuel savings alone. My wife thinks if she turns it off it wont start again. LOL It now has 91k miles and running great. I do filter and centrifuge all oil I collect as well as having the Cat 2 micron filter on the stock filter head with a lift pump. I have run used cooking oil, mineral oil, engine oil, transmission fluid and hydraulic oil. I live live in Texas so preheating is not a problem for me and rarely do I need to add pump diesel to the oil. I checked temps at filter to be 150 degrees, at fuel rail 175 degrees and at injector head 190 degrees so the oil is as thin as can be without a preheater. Mineral oil or electrical insulating oil makes one of the best diesel fuels you can get. It contains almost zero sulfur, no additives and passes any emmissions test with ease plus it lubricates far better than pump diesel, far cleaner burning and I get better fuel mileage. Odd part is that it is a mass produced by product of gasoline production. Guess what baby oil is mineral oil with a scent added to it. It is also used in candy making, bakery mold release agent, laxative. etc. Real harmful stuff isnt it? Dont fall for goverment and big business brainwashing. You may be surprised what you can learn and do without being told what to do.

bakersoil: I too run WMO as well as transmission fluid, WVO, etc during warm weather. To use WMO in the winter time I have to crack it into diesel. If you claim to be running straight WMO, I must know your secrete. The highest concentration which I can run without excessive smoke is 25%. Give us some more details.

Hemp seed oil? That could be the best selling fuel yet! :ROTFL: I dont run straight WMO but I do run straight transmission fluid and have run 50/50 mix of WMO and trans fluid. As long as you keep your catalytic converter in the exhaust you shouldnt get excessive smoke when the engine is up to operating temperature. I do run straight WVO from a Chinese resturant called Chopsticks. Very clean stuff and letting it settle is the best way to clean it. I also run straight mineral oil and find its the perfect diesel fuel and my source requires very little cleaning and only 1.00 per gallon. As for the centrifuge it is one taken off a Frieghtliner truck. It sets in the cap hole of a 275 gallon plastic tote and its powered by an electric motor with a hydraulic pump. Tell me how to post a pic on here.

How long do your filters last when your running pure oil? Also did you have to do anything special to make the little diesel run this? Please more information I live in a town with alot of resturants in the south so that is alot of cooking oil to be used.

You are brave sir. Not that I don't think this will work, just that you did it while married :!:

Filters last a good while. But any diesel owner needs to keep a spare in the vehicle. The key is good clean oil. The best wvo I have found is from Chinese places. If you clean it properly it will be cleaner than pump diesel and your filter should last just as long maybe even longer. Keep in mind I like to let it settle for months then pump off the top and run through filter.

You have achieved better success than I. I also tried straight Chinese oil, but had excessive smoke at idle and hard starting. Transmission fluid was equally Smokey at idle. The smoke wasn't really thick, mind you, but it was noticeable, and if this motor produces smoke, it is causing problems with the turbo actuator vanes. I tried it in 100 degree summer weather but it was still too much. Three years ago I made a run from Tennessee to Thunder Bay Ontario on 80%WVO 15%biodiesel 5%gasoline. It worked great on the highway.

So your running just straight Cooking oil through your standard fuel system. No other modifications needed i do have a Racor filter set up but everything else is completely stock. Could i do it i have alot of 55 gallon drums laying around and access to a few chinese resturants and a high lift pump system.

I have run straight WVO but I dont do it all of the time. It is more difficult to start and will produce some smoke at idle. On the highway you dont see any smoke. I also live in Texas and its 101 degrees here so that helps. Majestic turbo is here in Waco and a family member works for them so I am not to worried about the turbo if that becomes a problem but I have had no issues so far at 91k. A good friend is a diesel mechanic for Frieghtliner and I owned an aircraft engine manufacturing business for 15 years. We have been testing and mulling things over. A 50/50 blend of WVO and pump Diesel works great and we can find no ill effect. Straight mineral oil is the best if you can find it. I have to look at it this way. The jeep has paid for itself completely on the fuel savings so it is free so to speak. If it blew today I have lost nothing and buying or rebuilding the engine is much cheaper than buying a new vehicle

I'm amazed that you haven't plugged a filter yet with the WVO, I had less than a 50% mix of that and jammed a filter with it. I'm not doing that again, I'll convert the oil to biodiesel instead, easier on the engine.

Where are you getting the mineral oil though? Who uses and discards large amounts of the stuff?

Amazingly, no one has jumped in here yet telling us how we are going to destroy our engines or kill our children with toxic smog from burning oil. It would nice to see more free thinkers like us. Here is a site which you might enjoy. http://www.oiltodiesel.com/forum/index.php

WVO or Biodiesel will do the same thing to a filter until the entire system is clean. They both act as a cleaner or solvent and cut loose the pump diesel coating in the tank and fuel system. Once this is gone you shouldnt be plugging up filters unless your not properly filtering the WVO. As for the tree huggers what do you think happens to all that WMO? It gets burned. Much of it goes to cement manufacturing plants and offshore ships burn it. I read a web page article where the TDCJ is recycling all their WMO and burning it in offroad equipment. As for mineral oil all dino oil is mineral oil. Its refined to different viscosities and then different additives mixed with it for the intended application. The mineral oil I like is from electrical transformers. Its ultra pure oil with no additives and they havent used PCB in since 1980. You cant buy the PCB contaminated oil anyway. I could buy 20,000 gallons a week locally with a EPA number and an approved storage facility. However I worked out a deal with a small transformer manufacturer/repair company here where I live and get to buy all their used oil for 1.00 a gallon. Only thing it may have in it is carbon from arcing in a bad transformer which my centrifuge removes.

This is a neat WVO series on youtube that looks very well done. Thought you guys might want to give it a look. Is IS out there. Wonder how the new buyer is doing...

I love how he hid everthing to the casual observer...
