So, was driving to try and get a job at a jeep fab shop and was fixing to turn onto the exit so I turned off cruise then BAM it happened.
ABS and e-brake light came on, speedo and odo stopped working.
So first I think maybe the speed sensor went out so I check the rear axle, no broken or frayed wires on the speed sensor, that's all I knew to check at the time. So, I kept driving to the fab shop and when I parked I got out and looked for anything broken in the front and to my surprise I found a busted passenger CV.
So, with no choice I drive home, bout 15 minute drive.
Checked all the fuses and they're all good, so I'm at a loss right now.

What else should I check?? Also, is it alright to drive to work and home with the busted CV tonight? 5 miles one way.
No noises coming from it or anything.
And can I drive without one?
Don't know when I'll be able to replace it.

You are asking this and hoping to work at a fab shop?

IIRC, you will need to pull both front CV shafts AND the driveshaft, capping all openings, to be able to drive this. You are risking completely locking up an axle, breaking a diff or causing other issues including not being able to move, if you try to drive with a busted CV joint.

If you F it up good, you'll slap yoself for chancing it.
I'm guessing the ride to work won't be hard to hustle, but the ride back....good luck on that one.

I'll probably just borrow my brothers car.

And yes IC, I went for a job at a fab shop.
Just because I don't know much about the drive line and such doesn't mean I can't weld like a mother f**ker.

It takes many years to weld like a mother f**ker.
Mabe you meant "weld like a son of a gun".

Big difference. :goink:

How many years is that?
Cause I've been welding for almost 6 years. :D

Does anyone else have the feeling that, if they were to go to that shop, maybe some sort of "audition" was involved in this carnage?

Well, I noticed some noises today while driving.
It sounded like a chicken clucking, only happened at slow speeds though.
I hop under the jeep and theres still up and down play in the cv.
No front to back, to in and out play.
Wtf, I just replaced the darn thing yesterday.
