A lot of mention of many members with glow plug harnesses on backwards.
Anyone have a pic to show the way it should lay?

Ive been wondering if it hurts anything? I assume it must fire in the correct order right?

It doesn't hurt anything if it's on backwards. All 4 are activated at the same time and for the same duration when you key on. It just makes troubleshooting difficult if you don't know it's on backwards and one goes bad. I believe there is a little tag around the wire near each plug with numbers 1-4. They are probably hard to see.

I can only see one of the four plugs (#1 cylinder) and it isn't labeled.
Maybe tomorrow, with some light and a mirror.

Just read one of the other glow plug threads going on (seems a popular subject these days) and it mentions a white band on the #1 plug. I have a white band on mine.

The white band signifys the the number #1 glow plug wire. If the band is next to the #1 cylinder the harness is install correctly. If it is next to the #4 cylinder the harness is upside down and the diagnostics will be backwards.

Thx, any chance of 2 and 3 flipped? 3 and 4? I suppose I am asking why it seems to be only 1 and 4.

It would make sense that 2 & 3 would be reversed if 1 & 4 were.
If you have ever had to deal with production people, you would understand, getting it out the door counts more than doing it right.

The harness is built as one unit, if upside down 1234 is then 4321, so the diagnostics is wrong on every glowplug.
