Does anybody use the cargo area cover to hide their subwoofers? Does it rattle or affect the sound quality at all?

it would effect the sound alot it wouldnt make it bad just wouldnt be as loud. but im sure it would make a rattle but try it for your self

A piece of fabric is not going to effect sound ALOT It would be extreemely minimal. Being that it is not a sealed area and the fact that bass is omnidirectional unless you are competing where .5 db is going to make a difference you should never notice it. Now depending on the size of your system and the position of any ports you may get sort of a "flapping" sound from it. I would highly recomend a sealed box for said application.

I have a cargo cover with a sub and it doesn't sound bad, I actually think its sound better and deeper with it.
Granted its not just the cloth but a homemade cover of carpeted MDF with dowel rods on the end to hold it in place.

another thing is your amp may not get as much air i have my amp screwed to the top of my box to help it from over heating

JL Audio Stealthbox is made to work with the cover... but it's for serious enthusiasts only.


And no the cover will not affect SQ with any subwoofer.
