This site lists an underdrive pulley for our engines.

The pulleys for ours are more cause they include the harmonic balancer.

Just curious on what the under drive pulleys would do for me. I presume increase a little available engine power, by allowing the accessories to spin easier. But would that be something one would even notice? And would you have a problem with the accessories not spinning fast enough.

Theres alot of information that supports the good of having underdrive pulleys. But any time you are getting something you are giving up something. Your water pump, alternator will not spin as fast. Is this a problem No one will know untill we try it.

CHris

I want to try it but i need upper a arms first. That whole safety thing. Stupid safety.

most people who use under drive pullys have concerns with over heating at idle while sitting in traffic. This could be a concern while out on trails sitting and idleing not moving to get the air flowing threw the radiator. and they all so have discharging at idle too. if you are running extra lights this is not good.

underdrive pulleys belong on a drag racer, not a 4x4...

i'd rather make my power with headers, exhaust, intake (a new manifold would be sweet), and stuff like that.

If you use these, chances are good that your alternator will make less power (most alternators are barely adequate for stock vehicles), your water pump will flow less (unless you have an electric water pump, see problem 1). Your power steering may also suffer. All for maybe 5 horsepower and $250....
