Found this crazy hill climb today in Nepaug State Forrest, I was SOO tempted to just beast it but I have never done a serious hill climb before, let alone was I going to try this only rolling 1 rig deep. What do yall think, could I have made it?

The incline was fairly steep, but the sand seemed to be somewhat packed and not loose.

I would sure think so, as long as the ground is packed it shouldn't be bad

I just didnt want to get stuck halfway or go up too timid and have to back down, that scares the crap out of me. If there was someone with a winch who dared to try before me I would. Its just too soon to roll her.

that's a walk in the park! you should def. do it. just go slow! put it in 4 lo and let it do the work for you.. going fast and lots of skinny foot is where people get in trouble and roll. also having a spotter is always good! it's best never to wheel alone but i think that hill is ok!

Go for it. I have tried lots of climbs that I had to back it back down. But the trip back down can be a little hairy the brakes just don't seem to work as well.

The KJ can make it no problem but can you?
I've been wheeling a Rav 4 all over Tanzania for the past month on way steeper/rutted out hills than that so you'll have no problems with a little common sense!
Oh and we were alone on the roads we did with the Rav so go for it!

only reason i was asking is becasue I tried a hill climb last week when I was there and couldnt make it. Tires just kept kickin sand, but this one looked steeper but more packed with less baseball sized rocks.

Hopefully I'll make it up there with you soon. But until then I think you should try it. I'm sure the pic doesn't show the full pitch of the slope but just take it slow. I'm sure there are many ways to do it but if it was me, I would try it in 4L and take it slow and make sure I was aired down a bit - maybe 20-22 psi? Just be sure that when you reverse you did it in gear and not in N. Reverse down very slow b/c as mentioned the braking won't be the same b/c you front brakes do much more of the stopping power which is not helpful in reverse. It always helps to walk it first.
