I over torqued (using a 200 lb tq wrench for an 9 lb job... go figure) one of the bolts holding the pan on. Any ideas? The bolt is in the back, so you can't get to it from the top even if you removed the transmission. For now, I have some JB weld setting up to try and use the original head to wrench it out once it sets all the way.

:furious: learning as I go

Well, the JB weld wouldn't set all the way because fluid was seeping through the gasket.

I ended up buying a reverse drill bit kit from Sears, it worked!

Yey

I was about to say a nice set of easy outs work wonders and sounds like it might be time to get a drain plug kit for your trans pan. They don't seem to be that hard to install. And have never heard someone complain about one once it is installed. Just don't go cheap buy B&M or another known transmission builder/supplier.

Your not alone I broke one too! But in my case I use a 1/4 inch ratchet to unscrew my pan, I have paid the "stealer" to change my oil and filters last year and they overtorque one screw. I drill in the center of the remaining screw to punch a easy out and "suprise" the drill bit jam in the screw and get out on the opposite side with the broken piece! :D

I had to change the filters, so I had to remove the pan. But I do think a drain plug would work great!

Now I have a set of power outs, so there is always a bright side :SOMBRERO:
