Hi, I am new to this forum and haven't even posted pics up in the intro section but I have run into an issue with my taillights.

The back left taillight works when the headlights are on and the light is dimmed (no brakes) but it does not go on when used with the brakes regardless of the headlamps being on or off.

Also the top center light does not work at all.

using a #20 Torx bit, remove the retaining screws on the tail light assembly, you have to give it a good tug to release the pressure clips that help hold the assembly to the vehicle.
Don't pull too hard or too far or you'll rip out wires. Once out, locate the bulb giving you problems, they are mounted to twist out sockets, turn the back of the socke counter clockwise a 1/4 turn, then pull out. They don't come out easy because of the water tight seal, but they do come out.
Then replace the bulb with whatever model number bulb comes out, reinsert the socket plug with the lines on the back of the assembly, and twist a 1/4 turn clockwise, have someone step on the brake, or turn on the lights for you so you can insure it works before reinstalling the light assembly on the back of your Jeep.
The owner's manual lists all the bulbs and their locations, it's always a good idea to purchase a couple of replacements for every lighted device on your Jeep.

Hope this helps.....

Yeah the first thing to check is the bulb. It's a dual filaments bulb so its got a high and low. It's possible and very common to have just one filament in the bulb burn out. And its worth checking the high mount brake light bulb too. These usually burn out and you don't notice until one of the main lights go too.

Thanks for the information on dual filaments, that was the issue. Picked up a new bulb for $3 and now the lights good to go. :D
