Got a P1265 today which is a bummer because I put new glow plugs in her earlier this year along with a new harness.

I have a couple of questions to ensure I don't replace the wrong plug.

1. Cylinder Numbering: Is no. 1 cylinder furthest away from driver?

2. How do I know if I installed the wiring harness correctly...is one of the "plugs" marked as no. 1 glow plug?

Hope someone can answer this for me. I'm having a very bad week and it keeps getting worse. My misery index is pegged with wife blowing GC CRD engine yesterday (it pissed all of its oil on her commute to work and she kept driving it), dog blew her ACL repair, TV died in electrical storm, and now got a CEL/DTC on my only good running vehicle ;-(

Yes #1 is at the front of the vehicle. The wiring harness should have a white tag near the plug on this cylinder. You can use an ohm meter to check the resistance of each one before you pull any.
