Quick question, (could not find what I wanted in searching)

I picked up some AVS vent shades from autozone and went to put them on Saturday. Thing is, holding them up to the window they don't even seem like they are going to do what I want them to. (Mainly keep rain out) The AVS design is very narrow towards the mirror which doesn't seem like it will keep water out even in the window is cracked the slightest bit. Are there any vent shades out there that have equal amounts of covering for the whole window? (Meaning not 1½ inch at the middle and ½ inch near the mirror)

Does Jeep make an OEM vent shade?

And for the record, I do not want the "in-channel" ones. They are nice, but the back window leaves something to be desired!

Thanks! :banghead:

Do you got any pictures of them mounted? Close up preferable.

Thanks!

I got a set off ebay almost 2 years ago and love them. Sadly i can not recall the name of them. But they do not install on the outside of the door. You slide them in the track of the window. I think it gives my kj cleaner lines.

I have seen the avs ones at autozone they look very simular to the mopar ones. the bug/stone shield on my hood got chacked from an auto car wash cause the plastic seemed to have gotten brittle on that part. I replaced it with an AVS model. it was cheaper than the mopar OEM one and AVS has a lifetime breakage warranty that OEM don't. of course that does not include accidents and collisions.

Ive also got the in channel vent visors so Im also not much help. Personally I like them more than the stick on ones but its all just opinions. They reduce wind noise a considerable amount which is why I like vent visors so much. My windows are almost always down on the hw unless its cold or raining out.

The in-channel ones work well for me. I just got them for the front windows. They do look odd on the back windows, I think.

back window in channel does look funny because it only covers the part that rolls down not the entire door glass like the others.

in channel are cool for front only I guess.

I picked mine up from Advanced Auto and they work great

Image

I'm a smoker so my window is either all the way down or at least cracked when it is raining and they keep the rain out great.

I prefer the in-channel style to the stick-on type. To me the in-channel ones keep the lines much cleaner and professional looking, whereas the stick-on ones look sloppy, especially on a light-colored vehicle. Black wouldn't be as noticeable, but mine is Bright Silver. The rear window ones are functional so that's all I'm concerned about. You get used to how they look wether you like it or not. It never bothered me. They were the first things I put on my Jeep since I was a smoker when I bought it (been quit for almost 4 years now  ), as a matter of fact I bought them before I even took delivery of the Liberty! I have a window down 90% of the time rain or shine, so they're invaluable to me. Just my :2cents: and food for thought.
