So I haven't had a chance to look into it too far yet but here is my dilemma:

About a week ago I noticed that when I turned the A/C down to levels 1,2,or 3 I wasn't getting much for fan velocity. I was noticing that if I put my hand over the vents, I was getting air at a cold temp, but not what I usually have for force. So I did a little testing, checked the 3 lower levels and all come out at roughly the same force. I switched settings from cold air to heat, vent, defrost, etc, they all have the same force on 1-3. 4 works great, but I don't always want/ need it to be on that high.

Could it possibly be something really stupid simple? Or is it likely I'm going to have to replace the switch or the fan itself for comfort controls?

Anyone else had this happen?

Thoughts?

Fan control resistor behind the glove box door went out. Yes, happens a lot. Search fan resistor, lots of posts on it.

Thanks Wildman! I did look through a few of the posts I found quick (now that I know what it is) and this helps a TON!

By the way, saw your post on the engine udpate! That looks awesome in the KJ's engine bay. Should have been a factory option if you ask me :) I bet now you're really itching to get it done so you can drive that beast!

yep ,waht Larry said, happen to our, only had high speed. Get the BWD resistor for the 01-04 Sebring, fits exact but has upgraded epoxy insulation around it.

Thanks all, I was hoping it would be something stupid simple! :D

Just one follow-up question, Does using the Sebring 01-04' BWD work as good or better than the "Liberty" version? If this Sebring one with the better attachment really is the cat's meow, I'm willing to give it a shot. Anyone have it in now for a substantial period of time and how do you like it? Same goes for the Jeep version, anyone notice any issues with the replacement?

Just curious, before I buy it I just want to know what I'm getting into to :)

Thanks again!

Just installed mine. took all of 10 minutes, including finding the right socket (8mm by the way)

Nice having all 4 speeds again. The Sebring part is much better built. This should last the life of my liberty.

I bought the sebring one from Advance. It was around $25-28 but I figure it's worth it if it lasts longer. Also, I think the new one spins the fan a little faster, seems to have a little more air flow on all speeds than before fix.

Okay, so here is my follow-up question.

When I went to O'Reilly's, I asked for the part, and they said it would be $45 dollars. To which I replied, that sounds more expensive than it should be. I then basically decided to check around.

I went to carquest today after work and when I asked them for the same part, he said there are three different ones, one for the convertible, one for the coupe, and one for the sedan. All three are different part numbers and all three were different cost.

The one for a JEEP was $21, the two for the sedan and coupe were also roughly $21, but the one for the convertible was $39.

So for those of you that purchased the Sebring one, do you have a part number or any indication of which of these models you purchased for?

I questioned the guy on this, but he didn't seem very helpful.
