It is a sport. It is a contact sport. If you are too much of a baby to handle a little bit of a hit, you shouldn't be playing.

Hell, our girls' school football games are a lot more brutal than your "professional" football games.

Not much contact in that video. Just a bunch of fakers and pretenders. If you have to try and cheat by faking a hit or an injury, that's pretty wimpy to me......especially when they immediately get up when they know the official isn't going to make a call on it. You don't see too many 300+ lb guys tackling you from full speed in soccer. Try it sometime. Run full speed at a 300 lb pro American football player running at you full speed and tackling you and see how brutal it turns out. I'll take Rugby over Soccer.

Regardless, you have your national sport and we have ours. The important thing is we all enjoy watching and drink with friends. :5SHOTS:

I think the video was tongue-in-cheek, but I will put this forth;

There are FAR more NFL players that could make a go of a soccer career than vice versa....

The thought of a 280 # mass of muscle running 4.6 in the 60 hitting you at top speed.... that force could and will someday prove lethal. Beckham would wilt and die BEFORE the contact was made.

Soccer is more popular worldwide: Third world countires can play do to the lack of equipment required for what is essentially a loosely organized play ground game. And of course, millions of girls are perfectly capable of playing soccer. Football? Not so much,

The chicken gators look pretty poor against a team that was 1-11 in a mid-level conference last year. They had the lowest rate offense and thrid lowest rated defense on 1-A. An ESPN report rated Florida as routinely playng the weakest non-conference schedule among major colleges year in, year out. Looks like they need to.... Too bad that the Little Sister's School for the Blind was already scheduled for this weekend. I cannot imagine Florida being able to find a weaker patsy...

If Miami's Qb keeps his head out of his butt and doesn't throw 3 stupid inteceptions like in the first half...Urban going all Oprah last year may have a bigger effect than thought. If Miami had the deep bench of a major program, they would win this game. Alas, they do not.

When you posted this, you all had 26 yards of TOTAL offense and five fumbles... Not sure I'd be happy at all if I was a Gator fan. In fact, I'd be livid... Just like I was after nearly every FSU game between 2003 and 2008. Miami(OH) was outgaining you guys by 150 yards with your defense being the only reason the score wasn't 7-6.

Your new QB looked horrible... If you didn't notice, ESPN pulled the switch on their front page story. When the game started, it was titled "The John Brantley Era Begins". By the 3rd quarter, that had been changed to "Adjustment Period" HAHAHA :ROTFL:

Of course, my 'Noles won 59-6 over an equally horrible opponent, as would be expected of any good team (not the 'Noles of the last 5-6 years).

Have fun with USF. I hope y'all work the kinks out, or it won't be pretty.

Jacksonville State over Ole Miss was a surprise... UF's offense looking that bad for the first three quarters was a shocker. And Oklahoma's poor passing D and a mediocre performance from their replacement for Bradford almost cost them a huge upset.

Otherwise, not many good matchups this week... Nearly every team that should of won, did win.

I must say, I was impressed with the way UNC hung in there against LSU, considering they were practically playing their second team. Not sure if that means UNC is that deep, or LSU has some issues to work on... Didn't catch the game, just saw the score.

LSU owes the NCAA for the assist. Lou Holtz put it right out there: LSU has serious issues and, unless they get a handle on them, they are looking at 3 or 4 losses based on their level of play last night.

Florida looked horrible and the game was much closer than the score indicates.

Ole Miss.... did anyone expect anything of them anyway?

Georgia? Who knows? They took the weekend off. Same with S.C, Alabama,F state, arkansas...It is not uncommon anywhere but it is very common for the SEC to take week 1 off. They are also fairly classeless in their history of running up the score for stat padding, so you can't tell anything from the score. OSU played a team that won a bowl game last year, and had as many as 5 second-stringers playing at a time as early as the 2nd quarter. You don't find sportsmanship or class like that in the SEC.

Had Florida or LSU played ANYBODY they would both be 0-1, IMHO.

Probably true.

I didn't expect anything from Ole Miss, but losing to Jax St. is shocker for almost any D-1 team.

That game still wins in my book, as far as upsets go. Wasn't Michigan supposed to be a top ten team that year? I remember everything was downhill for them after App State...

Michigan was ranked #5 in the AP Preseason poll in 2007.

I DVR'ed the LSU game; listened to it Saturday night and watched it yesterday. A combination of conservative play calling in the second half and the youth of the players thinking they "had it" nearly cost them the game. I hope that the LSU of the second quarter shows up the rest of the year, rather than the LSU of the second half.

I watched most of Boise St./ VaTech last night. Man I was pulling for VaTech. You wanna talk about SEC teams scheduling cupcakes? Man those guys play cupcakes every week except for VaTech and Oregon State. They do NOT deserve to play for a National Championship - outside of a playoff scenario.
